Description
As you know, Wings was originally supposed to perform in Japan in 1975, but it is a famous story that it was canceled at the last minute. Therefore, Paul’s side also served as an apology for canceling his visit to Japan, and the video and sound source of the Melbourne performance that was held just before was sent to Japan, and each was broadcast the following year. Regarding the sound source, Oomoto’s sound board was released in the past as the masterpiece “FLY SOUTH SOUNDBOARD HIGHLIGHTS: ALTERNATE MONO MIX”, but the sound source recorded on the LP “ROCK SHOW ’75” is also the same. However, the LP version has an attractive sound quality with an analog feel unique to broadcasting at the time, and what’s more, it is wonderful to hear the depth of the sound. At that time, the same sound source was released overseas under the title “FLY SOUTH”, but the sound quality of Japan’s “ROCK SHOW ’75” was overwhelmingly superior. The label MARC that released this LP has produced such masterpieces as Queen’s “INVITE YOU TO A NIGHT AT THE BUDOKAN” and ZEP’s “WHITESUMMER.” Each of them has received high praise from enthusiasts overseas, and the same goes for this “ROCK SHOW ’75”. Also, in “Venus And Mars / Rock Show”, unlike “FLY SOUTH SOUNDBOARD HIGHLIGHTS” which recorded the original state, cheers were added at the moment the performance changed to “Rock Show”, giving a sense of realism during the broadcast. There is evidence that they were trying to make up for their lack. In a sense, you could say that this is a different mix. Such a masterpiece will be released, but the LP is carefully recorded even though it is a bonus. Not only is there no scratch noise typical of analog, but the low pitch of the Melbourne part has also been properly adjusted. We have created an item that will be easy to listen to even for those who own the original version. However, the rest of the B-side after the Melbourne sound source ends is a short documentary about the time when the phantom Japan tour came to a halt, with the voice of that person we all know saying, “Wings has decided to come to Japan.” It’s sad that it was reported that the event had been announced, but then it was announced that ticket sales had been postponed, and that it had no choice but to be cancelled. It was a MARC masterpiece that had historical value in every sense of the word, documenting the situation of Japan and the Wings at the time. (Remaster Memo) The pitch from 1trk to 11trk was about 35% of a semitone slower, so this has been corrected.
