Description

Steve Hoffman’s unreleased DCC disc remasters have been released so far, including George’s “ALL THING MUST PASS” and Wings’ “WILD LIFE,” but he also sold the best album “WINGS’ GREATEST” on his website. However, this was released five years ago as a two-disc set “WINGS GREATEST UNRELEASED,” with the first disc combined with a collection of rare sound sources with the same track order, and it was highly praised by enthusiasts for its well-integrated rare sound sources and unreleased DCC mastering throughout. For this reason, the release was initially postponed, but the previous George and Wings titles became unexpectedly big hits, and enthusiasts began calling for a standalone release of “WINGS’ GREATEST” that respected the same DCC-like artwork and album format as those albums. George’s “ATMP” in particular was a best-seller, and “WILD LIFE” was also renewed from the sticker number 100 to DCC-style artwork, which was also very well received. So this release was realized, but the circumstances of the DCC version of “WINGS’ GREATEST” hand-sold CD were different from other albums. Although the title was released under the name of the best album, the track list was different, and some songs that were not included in the best album were included. The opening song was “Every Night”. In “WINGS GREATEST UNRELEASED”, the order and content of the songs were rearranged and included in the best album, but this time, not only have the songs been rearranged in the order of “WINGS’ GREATEST”, but the remaining songs have been assigned as bonuses, making the most of the DCC remastered CD. From the song selection and the different track list from the actual best album, it can be inferred that the DCC version of this best album was a failure before the release was even realized, more than other albums. Although Hoffman had mastered each song from the master tapes to create a DCC version of “WINGS’ GREATEST,” the release was halted, so in reality, it was more of a remastering of the singles from the Wings era rather than “WINGS’ GREATEST.” Of course, the effect of Hoffman’s DCC remastering is tremendous this time as well, and you can enjoy the analog sound quality on CD. For example, “Uncle Albert / Admiral Halsey” was originally a warm recording, but here it has a rounded sound quality that feels like you are being enveloped. This analog-like finish is the true essence of DCC remastering. On the other hand, the single “Junior’s Farm,” which was the highlight of the release of this best album, features Paul’s buzzing bass reproduced with a powerful and unobtrusive sound. And while recent best albums such as “WINGSPAN” and “PURE McCARTNEY” all included “With A Little Luck” in a short version for radio, called a DJ edit, this album includes the full version, which is one of its charms. And above all, the biggest aim of this album is to release this nostalgic best album, released in the 1970s, which is a compilation of Wings-focused songs, in a natural and warm analog-feel DCC remaster and DCC-style package. Of course, the current remaster is also very good, but the DCC remaster, which is particular about thoroughly reviving the analog feel on CD, is truly magnificent. You can play it loud from your speakers or listen carefully with headphones. Please collect this one again, following the two previous best-selling unreleased remaster titles! (70:12) 1. Another Day 2. Silly Love Songs 3. Live And Let Die 4. Junior’s Farm 5. With A Little Luck 6. Band On The Run 7. Uncle Albert – Admiral Halsey 8. Hi Hi Hi 9. Let ‘Em In 10. My Love 11. Jet 12.
