Paul McCartney has entered 2018 with warm-up gigs in Liverpool and London in June and July. On September 7, 2018, they held a concert on a special stage in New York’s Grand Central Station. Finally, they announced that they would be going on a new tour titled FRESHEN UP TOUR, replacing the previous ONE ON ONE TOUR. This is a large-scale tour that will start in Canada in September 2018 and will include festival appearances in Europe, Japan, and the United States, and the 2019 schedule has been announced in quick succession. A feature of this FRESHEN UP TOUR is that they have added new songs from their new album “EGYPT STATION” to their repertoire. Moreover, he played two songs, “Who Cares” and “Come On To Me” at the beginning of the concert, and “Fuh You” in the middle. All of these songs seem to have been designed with concert performance in mind, and serve as an important accent to the stage composition. Also, “From Me To You” will be premiered on this tour. It is one of the Beatles’ representative songs from the very early days, and is featured as one of their acoustic corner songs. Other than that, if you just look at the songs on the setlist, contrary to the tour title, there are no fresh selections, and although there are songs that have been played in the past, if I were to point out the special feature of this tour, it would be the arrangement rather than the songs. We should pay attention to this. The main difference from traditional Paul stages is the addition of a brass section. Until now, with the exception of Wings in the 70’s, basically no one other than band members joined Paul’s stage. Of course, there were times when bagpipe bands took the stage and guests performed. However, there were no musicians who accompanied the tour and participated in the concert production every night. For the first time, a brass section joined the band. The arrangement intentionally takes advantage of the fact that the sounds that had previously been substituted by Wicks’s keyboard are now played using real instruments. This work is a complete recording of the last stop of the 2018 FRESHEN UP TOUR, the last day of the UK tour, which consisted of only three performances, in London. It was announced from the beginning that special guests would appear, and fans were talking about who would appear, and it turned out to be Ringo Starr and Ron Wood. The two were introduced during the encore and played “Get Back” together. As you can see if you listen to this work, Ronnie is in charge of the lead, and you can clearly hear that each note of the guitar is exactly the tone of the Stones taste. And perhaps because it had been a long time since he had performed, there was an incident where Ringo went flying during the break in the middle. Paul instantly noticed the situation, looked at Ringo and said, “2, 3, 4!” even though it was in the middle of the song, and re-counted and corrected the performance. What’s more noteworthy is the sound quality. It’s the best possible audience recording, the performance is close, the sound is so close that it’s as if Paul was singing right in front of you, there’s no bothersome audience around, there’s almost no applause or handclaps, and it’s clear and beautiful. It is as perfect as a superb live album. Of course, it appears for the first time in this work, and can only be heard in this work, and is a completely exclusive sound source with ultra-high sound quality that is not available anywhere else. In addition, as a bonus track, there is a short soundboard sound source of the day, and two songs that were not played at the London performance from the previous concert, the Glasgow performance on December 14, 2018, which was the middle day of the three UK performances, plus ” Wonderful Christmastime” is included. The two songs are “Can’t Buy Me Love” and “We Can Work It Out”, which Paul plays on a daily basis. This Glasgow performance is also the first sound source of ultra-high sound quality that has not been distributed anywhere, and is a completely exclusive sound source of this work. A UK tour with only 3 performances to conclude 2018. On the final day, the London performance was completely recorded in high quality. It was a special London performance that was the best Christmas present, co-starring Ringo Starr and Ron Wood. This is an exclusive sound source with ultra-high sound quality that is not available anywhere else and is the first to appear in this work. ■The final day of the UK tour with only 3 performances to conclude 2018 ■Ringo Starr & Ron Wood jump in to perform together ■The concert increases in number of songs and is over 3 hours ■Performs “Wonderful Christmastime” with the children’s chorus ■Nothing Completely exclusive sound source with ultra-high sound quality that is not available on the market LONDON O2 ARENA, LONDON U.K. December 16, 2018 DISC ONE 01.
