Description
An audience album that captures the show in Moline, Illinois, which was held next to Green Bay from Paul’s latest tour, which is currently ongoing. The sound quality here is also really wonderful, but the quality of the sound is somewhere between the clear and spacious Lexington and the current Green Bay, which boasts an amazing sound pressure like a soundboard. After all, the sound image is close here, so it would be a good sound source to bring to listen carefully to the latest tour. In the end, the only place where “Band On The Run” was not played was in Lexington (a truly rare occurrence!), and after that, it was a fresh-up of normal business, not much different from last year’s Japan performance and Europe. However, the set list continued to have modes that I wanted to call out. However, “Save Us” will be played for the first time in a while at the Madison performance on June 6th. This song had previously held a firm position in the regular repertoire, but it was not played on last year’s tour, and it seemed as if it had given up its place to the repertoire from the album “EGYPT STATION”. However, at the previous performance, he played instead of the usual “Junior’s Farm”, making his freshen up debut. Following Madison, “Save Us” was played at the Moline performance released this time. However, it is a song that has been played many times until 2017, and it is hard to believe that it has been a long time since the performance was so natural and dignified. Also, in the corner where Paul makes a comment on the signboard from the audience, which is familiar every time on stage in English-speaking countries, he discovered a masterpiece message saying, “Paul, I can smell your feet a mile away.” Of course, this is a play on the lyrics of that “Smile Away”, and it was a funny scene where you can see Paul grinning when he saw it. Paul seemed to be more relaxed than usual on this day, as he also commented on other signboards he saw. The unique balance of this day’s audience recording is also a big attraction. Although it certainly does not match the impressive sound pressure of Green Bay, the point is that the performance is captured in a moderately spacious and solid state. Still, the clarity of each instrument is wonderful, and for example, it’s interesting to hear Rusty Anderson’s backing, which plays electric rather than acoustic guitar, clearly on “In Spite Of All The Danger.” I think you can understand that the sound image that is different from Green Bay is a big attraction just here. When Paul plays “Blackbird” by himself, he makes a gesture that seems to stop the performance in the middle, exciting the audience (another nice relaxing feeling), but the scene where the audience who was surprised at that becomes very excited. The sense of realism is also captured in a balance without being sarcastic, which makes it feel good. The clear and rich sound quality of Paul’s peaceful performance, which seems to have made him feel better after hearing the warm reaction from the Moline audience that day (“My Valentine” was not as noisy as in Green Bay, and the audience was listening attentively).
