Description

It’s already been a month since the 2019 edition of FRESHEN UP was completed. Introducing the best multi-camera video that revives that enthusiasm and allows you to enjoy even the precious “Back in Brazil”. This work includes “Santiago performance on March 20, 2019”. This is an audience shot that records the whole story. The 2019 show was 5 performances in South America + 16 performances in North America, but the Santiago performance of this work was the first day. At our store, we have introduced the North American version of the video gift “LAS VEGAS 2019: THE VIDEO,” so the South American version feels a little late. However, this work is the latest work that was only recently released. There is a reason why it took so long to make the announcement. It’s a meticulously assembled multi-camera edit. Although it is a master produced by an overseas enthusiast, it is a video work that gathers various audience shots of the day and switches rapidly even within one song. And the finish is amazing. It’s hard to say “the angle is XX” or “the image quality is XX” because it’s just an edited video, but the careful selection and editing techniques are top-notch. The distant view that captures the entire stage is full of the awesomeness of the latest digital image quality, and the screen shots are as spectacular as professional shots. I also like how the editing is not too busy. Multi-camera shots in South America tend to use a tremendous number of shots with a cheerful momentum, but this is not the case with this work. Of course, there are some songs where the transitions are quick, but that’s just to match the song’s idea. Basically, each cut is carefully brought out to bring out its flavor, and the cuts are made just before you get tired of watching it. There is no sense of self-disclosure that makes you say, “We’re using so much footage!”; the camera work maintains that “the show is the main character.” Moreover, since the scenes have been carefully selected, there are no scenes where the audience is bothered or unstable. The result is a video work that is extremely easy to watch. What makes this kind of editing stand out is the wonderful audio. Unlike the video, it is an audience recording that goes all at once, but this is incredibly clear. Although it cannot be said to be a close-up sound with zero sense of distance, the atmosphere is crystal clear and you can enjoy every detail very clearly. What is even more surprising is that there is little audience noise. Although it absorbs the joy of the scene and the vast chanting, the volume is much lower than the beautiful performance sound and Paul’s singing voice, and it never pollutes the beautiful sound. Speaking of South America, screaming is the default, but the modest cheering of this work is like Europe…no, it’s like a performance in Japan. At our store, we have introduced many live albums from the North American tour, but it is hard to believe that such beautiful and easy-to-listen recordings existed in South America. Coupled with easy-to-see camera work, you can fully immerse yourself in the world of FRESHEN UP. And the show is also wonderful. They will also play “Junior’s Farm” and “Letting Go,” which were not seen in the aforementioned “LAS VEGAS 2019: THE VIDEO,” but even more so will be “EGYPT STATION’s” new song “Back in Brazil.” This day was also the world premiere, but since then it has only been performed in São Paulo (March 26th) and Curitiba (March 30th). You can enjoy such a precious performance with multi-camera, including screen footage specially prepared for it. Just being able to fully experience the 2019 version of FRESHEN UP is wonderful, but this is a video work of a higher dimension than just that. This is a record that has a beautiful quality that is not typical of South America and the “Back in Brazil” that is unique to South America, and is easy to watch and listen to, and the length of 2 hours and 41 minutes passes in the blink of an eye.
