The “Got Back Tour” kicked off in Spokane, Washington, USA on April 28, 2022, and the Oakland performance on May 6th featured a spectacular 36-song show! It was a great show that included a virtual duet with John Lennon and the live debut of “Women and Wives” from the latest album “McCartney III”. This tour is significant not only because Paul McCartney is performing in various places for the first time in a long time, but also because he is about to turn 80. The pandemic has put the future of the rock elder in doubt. But McCartney is true to his word, “back!” “The most fun we had as a band was 20 years ago, right here,” he said at one point. And not only were there some songs to play live for the first time, but the Beatles’ classics were brought back to the public’s attention thanks to Peter Jackson’s documentary film “Get Back”. McCartney has reminisced on the project a few times, including the encore duet with Lennon, which was made possible because Jackson offered to separate Lennon’s voice from the film footage.
