Description
~ Patti Smith Group New excavated live sound source featuring Bruce Springsteen from 1977 is now available! ~December 30, 1977, a treasured sound source recorded with a good stereo audience recording of the live performance held at the famous CBGB in New York is now available! There is no sense of separation and the sound image is close to monaural, but the vocals are louder and each part is recorded in a well-balanced manner. It’s a shame that the first half of the opening “We Three” and the first half of “5th Floor” are missing due to a tape change, but the song is high tension from beginning to end, with a rare cover of the Ronettes’ classic “Be My Baby” being played in the first half. The excitement of the audience responding to Patty is vividly recorded! Bruce Springsteen, the author of “Because The Night,” jumped in to participate in the live performance, which was full of great things to listen to, including the long version of “Ghost Dance.” Also included is a scene where Patti is presented with a birthday song from the band as it is her birthday!
