Pat Metheny Trio’s 2004 July/9 Swiss performance recorded in high quality professional shots. The valuable live performance by the “New Trio” featuring Christian McBride and Tony Sanchez is recorded for nearly two hours in high-definition video that has been digitally remastered on a broadcast pro-shot master. Just like the previous 2003 performance in Japan, which was the debut stage for the “New Trio,” the show opened with Metheny’s solo guitar, and the trio began playing “So May It Secretly Begin,” demonstrating extremely advanced techniques. The proud trio’s play doesn’t even give you time to breathe throughout the whole song. Even though the songs were new at the time, they are already familiar to my ears, so when I sit down to listen to them, I feel like I can make new discoveries.
