In order to realize the idea that Metheny had always had in mind of incorporating a Brazilian flavor into the Metheny Group, Argentinian vocalists, saxophone, acoustic guitar, vibraphone, percussion, and many other instruments were used as important elements of the sound. Massachusetts on December 2, 1984, when the Pat Metheny Group was at its peak, with the release of “First Circle,” their final album on ECM, which was produced by inviting multi-instrumentalist Pedro Aznar to the group.
