Description
In order to take the Pat Metheny Group to the next step, they renewed the members except for Metheny, Mays, and Rodby, and added the amazing multi-instrumentalist Aznar to push out the taste of the Latin American sound that Metheny was leaning toward at the time. The new PMG’s Great A Must Performance is here! ! ! They released the live album “Travels,” which was a compilation of early PMG from the ECM era. With the exception of Metheny, Lyle Mays, and Steve Rodby, a new member, Paul Wartico, joined the band on drums. In addition, in order to realize the idea of incorporating Brazilian taste into the Metheny Group, an important cornerstone of the sound was Pedro, a multi-instrumentalist from Argentina who plays vocals, saxophone, acoustic guitar, vibraphone, percussion, and many other instruments. The new PMG, who invited Aznar to the group and renewed the lineup, will hold a live performance in Munich, Germany on April 3rd, the final stop of their first European tour that lasted for four months starting in January 1983. A 2-disc set has arrived that includes an hour and a half of ultra-high quality sound that has been carefully mastered by the label, including the encore!
