Description
This is the first release of the PMG’s 1983 Nice performance, recorded by the people involved for the record! After the 1982 US tour, which consisted of 80 performances, Metheny, Lyle Mays, and Steve Rodby were the core, and drummer Dan Gottlieb was replaced by Paul Wertiko. In addition, in order to realize the idea that Metheny had had in his mind for a long time of incorporating a Brazilian taste into the Metheny Group, he invited Argentine vocalist Pedro Aznar, who plays vocals, saxophone, acoustic guitar, vibraphone, percussion, and many other instruments, to the group as an important part of the sound. This powerful album was recorded over 80 minutes in the early days of the new PMG’s performance at Chapiteaux des Expositions in Nice, France on February 22, 1983, with the best high-quality sound, carefully mastered by the label’s own original recording from the original master recorded by the people involved.
