Description
PiL in 1992 was at a major turning point before the SEX PISTOLS reorganization. Introducing the “official replacement” decision board where you can enjoy that stage on a super-high-quality soundboard. This work includes “March 26, 1992 Irvine Performance”. This is a stereo soundboard recording. PiL was active throughout the 1980s, but as they entered the 1990s, their group waned. In 1992, they completely ceased their activities, but before that, they released their final album, “THAT WHAT IS NOT”, and went on an extensive world tour. This work is a masterpiece of a live album that symbolizes such an era. First of all, let’s check the show’s position from the schedule at that time.・February 7th: Tijuana performance [“THAT WHAT IS NOT” released on February 24th] ・February 25th + 28th: Promo appearance ・March 13th – April 24th: North America #1 (33 performances)← ★Coco★・May 2nd-7th: UK (5 performances)・June 6th + July 4th + August 28th: Europe (3 performances)・September 2nd-18th: South America/North America #2 (10 performances)《Suspension of activities》 This is PiL in 1992. Their schedule of more than 50 live shows a year is quite active, but if you look closely, only “North America #1” can be called a “tour” that involves repeating stages and traveling every day. The Irvine performance of this work was the 10th concert in the middle of that. This show is also known for being broadcast on the radio on the prestigious “WESTWOOD ONE”, and its numerous air checks are one of the classics that have created Ki Wa Gun. It was a show that represented 1992 for a long time. This work is also an FM sound board, but it is different from the ordinary air check. It is one of the ultimate genera that was made into a CD directly from the pre-FM master of “WESTWOOD ONE”. In fact, the quality of this work is completely official grade. Even though they are simply referred to as “FM broadcast sound boards,” they actually have a wide variety of characteristics and quality. There are many things where audience recording is much better. In such a situation, “WESTWOOD ONE” has become a reliable brand. Not only is it a sound board that carefully captures each instrument, but the mix, which is intended for playback on home audio, boasts a high degree of perfection that even the beauty of the sound is achieved. It is equipped with “WESTWOOD ONE” broadcasts are treated as semi-official for various bands/artists. “WESTWOOD ONE” is trusted among collectors to the extent that it rivals even the prestigious BBC in the UK, but this work does not tarnish its golden sign, but rather enhances its reputation. All of the above-mentioned virtues are at the highest level, and because it is a pre-FM master, every corner is beautiful, and the analog natural feel is refreshing. And, what is depicted with such an extreme sound is a show that can be said to be a “live performance version of THAT WHAT IS NOT” because it is in the final stage. Let’s organize the set here. That Is Not A Love Song (6 songs)・Love Hope/Think Tank/Acid Drops/Luck’s Up/Cruel/Covered Others (6 songs) ALBUM: Rise・HAPPY?: Rules and Regulations/The Body・9/Nine: Disappointed・“Heart Blue” Soundtrack: Criminal…And so it goes like this. Half of the show was occupied by the “THAT WHAT IS NOT” number, and 6 out of the 10 songs on the album were huge. Moreover, there are some songs like “Cruel” that are played during the reunion, but the others are rare songs only released in 1992. Furthermore, “Criminal” provided for the movie “Heart Blue” is also a limited song only for this tour, and “Rules and Regulations” has hardly been played after the reunion. In addition to the ensemble, the set has a strong color that is different from any other time, and it is a show that even feels like a different band. “PiL of the 1990s” established a world different from the 1980s, just as they were about to cease their activities. This work is a representative work that replaces the official one that conveys that stage. That is the highest peak updated version of the super definitive soundboard that has the same value as the official studio work “THAT WHAT IS NOT”.
