Description
Ozzy, who produced “NO REST FOR THE WICKED” by adding Zakk Wylde, who was discovered at the audition, as a new guitarist, welcomed his ally Geezer Butler from the BLACK SABBATH era on bass, completing the new lineup of the band. In advance of the album release, we started a “U.K. Club Tour” in July. This tour, which lasted for about a month, starting with the Dublin, Ireland show on July 7th and ending with the London show on July 27th, was a small-scale tour that also served as a warm-up for the band (as the tour name suggests). I did a circuit mainly around clubs. This is an unusual tour for Ozzy, where arena live performances had already become commonplace at the time. This work includes the Leicester performance on July 11th, which was the beginning of that tour, from the original cassette master recorded by Crazy S.! Immediately after Zack’s stage debut, you can enjoy his fresh and wild performance with a passionate and realistic feeling. The big appeal of this UK tour is that it has a set list that is different from the US tour and Japan tour. Starting with a strong start with “Bark At The Moon”, you will enjoy the development that unfolds like the Jake era, with the heavy “Suicide Solution” and the dramatic “Mr. Crowley”. There are times when the sound input is a little strong and the bass is slightly distorted, but the brightness and freshness of the sound is of master quality. The sense of unity between the stage and floor and the swirling atmosphere of excitement are unique to a club. Ozzy’s vocals are in very good condition, and Zack’s guitar also plays wonderfully. Geezer and Randy Castillo’s rhythm is so powerful! The highlight of the first half of the live performance was the extremely rare “Demon Alcohol”! The high tension performance is a great listen. Ozzy’s singing is also able to reproduce the line close to the album, making you feel the strength of this day. In the following “Shot In The Dark”, Geezer’s bass is impressive. Geezer was a solo member of the “GEEZER BUTLER BAND,” and he also played hard pop songs that weren’t too heavy. You will be able to enjoy the unexpected side of Geezer here as well. And the highlight of the first half of the live is “Bloodbath In Paradise”. The song’s lyrics are catchy yet heavy, thrilling but also suspicious. Disc 2, which begins with Zack’s guitar solo, is a medley of “Sweer Leaf” and “War Pigs,” followed by “Tattooed Dancer,” which includes a powerful drum solo, and is a series of highlights unique to the ’88 live show. Until the final song “Iron Man” and “Crazy Train”, the story progresses in a breathless and furious manner! Of course the encore is “Paranoid”! There are no cuts here, so you can fully enjoy the ending of the live performance! The 84-minute fiery performance recorded with vivid live sound should have been released normally.
