Description
The two great dark heroes of rock, Ozzy Osbourne and Alice Cooper. A pro shot of the two heroes standing side by side has been decided to be released! The two giants who brought “darkness” to rock in the 70s. They are rivals of “crazy heroes” who comment on each other’s history videos, but their serious battle was realized at the “South American version of MONSTERS OF ROCK” held in 1995. It was a two-day festival tour in which both heroes served as headliners, but only one performance shared the same stage on the same day. That is the “September 2, 1995 Sao Paulo performance” included in this work. This dazzling super luxurious coupling show was also broadcast on TV. This work is a digitalized version of the local TV station master. In addition to 12 songs by Ozzy and 10 songs by Alice, it also includes one song each of MEGADETH (the golden quartet!) and FAITH NO MORE, who were the opening act on the day. The quality of this work is an incredibly hot multi-camera pro shot. It’s hard to call it “official class” since it’s a South American broadcast from the 90s, but the master freshness is outstanding. There is almost no dubbing deterioration, and the visual beauty is completely different from the VHS era, which was full of distortion and noise. Among them, what makes it feel “hot” is the roughness unique to South America. Unlike sophisticated Western broadcasts, the camerawork switching is forceful and the video production is also spectacular. For example, Ozzy’s opening scene. At that time, Ozzy was playing a CG-processed gag movie, where he performed with Elvis and Madonna. In this broadcast, the video is projected exactly, and Ozzy does not come out easily. As the song progresses, it becomes a performance scene, but this time a “frame” like an early Purikura is reflected. The song title subtitles are also displayed, so it’s definitely a TV broadcast, but it looks like a leaked pro shot from the on-site screen. Such a South American taste is a sense of the era, but the show depicted is even hotter! This is the rare lineup of OZZMOSIS, when Ozzy retracted his retirement, and Joe Holmes and Geezer Butler were also present. Joe had been with the band for about five years, but this was his fourth performance since joining the band, which was one of his earliest performances. The fresh performance is a must-see, but the set is also valuable. Of particular note are the new songs “I Just Want You” and “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.” The former is a rare song that has not been played since, but the latter is actually very rare. “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath” is often thought of as Sabbath’s signature song, but it was never performed live in the 1970s, and even his solo work “SPEAK OF THE DEVIL” was a rehearsal take. This video is the first existing stage recording. Alice, who played against Ozzy, was also amazing. At that time, it was the EPIC label era, which had made a great comeback. For the tour of their final album “THE LAST TEMPTATION,” they also performed the rare song “Sideshow,” which was unique to that time. Of course, the performance is full of Alice’s unique style, which only stands out because of the video. “Gutter Cats Vs. The Jets” recreates a street gang war, “Feed My Frankenstein” shows Alice creating a monster and torturing a beautiful doll, and “Ballad Of Dwight Fry” shows Alice escaping from restraints and strangling a doctor… a true horror rock musical. Unfortunately, Alice has very few performances in Japan, so the joy of her live shows is not well known, but I would like as many people as possible to know about them at least through the video. And the band that supports Alice is also luxurious and magnificent. The core of the band is Steph Barnes (Y&T), who was her chief of staff at the time, as well as Greg Smith from RAINBOW, Derek Sherinian from DREAM THEATER, Paul Taylor from WINGER, and Jimmy DeGrasso, who later joined MEGADETH. A lineup of veteran heroes worthy of the name “ALICE COOPER Music School”. This is also a video, so the feeling of “Oh, he’s there!” is fun. It’s a multi-camera pro shot that lasts for 1 hour and 46 minutes, including the opening acts MEGADETH and FAITH NO MORE. The songs and lineup are highlights, but more than that, the scene where the two “evil charisma” who left their mark on rock history line up is valuable. This is a piece that overflows from the monitor with a sense of the era. Live at Pacaembu Stadium, Sao Paulo, Brazil 2nd September 1995 PRO-SHOT OZZY OSBOURNE 1. Paranoid 2. Desire 3.
