Description
About four months after the sudden death of Randy Rhoads, Ozzy Osbourne made his first visit to Japan with Brad Gillis in 1982. A shocking original recording that conveys the scene is now available. What is engraved in this work is “July 15, 1982: Nakano Sun Plaza Performance”. This is the best audience recording. Speaking of Nakano, Ozzy’s first visit to Japan, the masterpiece “BLOODY DIARY” recorded by Miracleman is a classic at our store, but this work is a separate performance. First of all, let’s look back at the schedule at that time and check the position of the show.・July 9: Osaka Festival Hall ・July 11: Nagoya City Public Hall ・July 13: Kyoto Kaikan ・July 14: Nakano Sunplaza ← *”BLOODY DIARY” ・July 15: Nakano Sunplaza ←★This work★ There are 5 performances in total. In Tokyo, two performances were scheduled at Nakano Sunplaza, and this concert was the final day. In fact, the recording of the first visit to Japan was concentrated on the last day, and the big set of 3 sound sources “FACING OZZY” has become a standard at our store. However, this work is the first recording that is completely different from those sound sources. It is also the highest updated version. The great thing about this work is its extremely thick core. This is the original master of this work, which was given to me by the recording artist himself, but the recording position is “No. 28, 3rd row on the 1st floor.” It is a special seat that is just a few meters away from Ozzy, who is running wild on stage. Of course, the sound quality is not necessarily the best near the front, but this work brings out the full flavor of the close seats. It directly picks up the PA sound before it diffuses, and there is almost no echo. Strictly speaking, Brad Gillis’ guitar is more vivid than Ozzy’s vocals, perhaps because he is a few seats to the right of the center, but in any case, all the performance sounds are neatly separated and you can enjoy even the subtleties. (The bass of the on-site PA is harsh until the beginning “Over The Mountain”, but it improves considerably from the middle). The seats are amazing, but they’re not the only thing that makes for great sound. I’m sure many of you have already noticed this, but this work is straight out of the now-talked-about master collection. He was acclaimed by THE POLICE and WHITESNAKE as “more than official” and “Japan’s Mike Millard,” and it turned out that he was actually a master who had worked on the historical legendary record of Jeff Beck’s Yokohama recording. Reunion DEEP PURPLE and MSG’s super rock will be released at the same time, but such a master was also recording Ozzy. What is depicted with such vivid and glossy superb sound is the precious Blood era full show, and the scene of Ozzy’s first visit. Speaking of Blood era live shows, the official video “SPEAK OF THE DEVIL” is a symbol, so let’s compare and organize them. Blizzard of Oz (8 songs) / Mr. Crowley / Crazy Train / Revelation (Mother Earth) / Steal Away (The Night) / Suicide Solution / Goodbye To Romance / I Don’t Know / No Bone Movies (★) Others (6 songs) ・Diary of Madman (3 songs) Over The Mountain/Believer/Flying High Again ・Black Sabbath (3 songs) Iron Man/Children Of The Grave/Paranoid *Note: “★” marks are official videos A song that cannot be heard on “SPEAK OF THE DEVIL”. …and it looks like this. “SPEAK OF THE DEVIL” has a live album version of all Sabbath songs and a video version of the regular set, but the first visit to Japan is part of the “DIARY OF A MADMAN Tour”, so it is close to the video version. However, it was not completely the same, and “No Bone Movies” was also performed. This is a song that cannot be heard even on the Memphis performance’s masterpiece soundboard “SPEAK EVIL OF OZZ (Shades 509)” (= a song for which there is no soundboard from the Blood era), and as a result, “BLIZZARD OF OZZ” other than “Dee” It covers all songs. In other words, it is a live album that can be enjoyed as “Blood version Blizzard”. Ozzy Osbourne’s first visit to Japan, which was not possible at BLACK SABBATH. This is an amazing new excavation live album that allows you to fully experience the historical scene with the finest expert sound. Compared to the general genre, there are fewer outstanding recordings of 80’s HR/HM, but this master recorded WHITESNAKE, DEEP PURPLE, MSG, and even Ozzy. I wonder what kind of new metal discoveries will come out in the future… Such expectations are spreading, and this two-disc set is about to explode. The best audience recording of the legendary first visit to Japan “July 15, 1982: Nakano Sun Plaza Performance”. This is the first sound source from the now popular Master Collection, and is a special seat sound recorded from “1st floor, 3rd row, number 28.” It directly picks up the PA sound before it diffuses, and there is almost no echo. All performance sounds are neatly separated, allowing you to enjoy even the subtlest details. “No Bone Movies”, which could not be heard in the official video “SPEAK OF THE DEVIL”, was also played, and all songs from the 1st album except “Dee” were performed. This is a live album that is fun to listen to as “Blad Gilles’ version of BLIZZARD OF OZZ.” Nakano Sunplaza, Tokyo, Japan 15th July 1982 TRULY PERFECT SOUND(from Original Masters) Disc 1 (62:16) 1.
