Description
Ozzy’s “NO REST FOR THE WICKED” tour, which started in 1988, ended the second leg of the North American tour with a performance in Sacramento, California on August 5, 1989, and the large-scale world tour came to an end. However, the climax of the “NO REST FOR THE WICKED” tour was waiting for us in August. Ozzy and his band appeared at the “Moscow Music Peace Festival” held in Moscow, Soviet Union, for two days on August 12th and 13th. This festival was a groundbreaking event that told the story of the change of the era with the end of the Cold War, and a distinguished line-up of artists such as Ozzy, headliner BON JOVI, MOTLEY CRUE, SKID ROW, CINDERELLA, and others gathered. Among them, SCORPIONS is known for announcing this event as “Wind Of Change,” which became the catalyst for their growth into a band that went beyond the boundaries of heavy metal. This show released footage of the first and 12th days, and was even broadcast on television, so many items have been released in the past just from the scenes where Ozzy appeared. However, the footage of the second and 13th days that will appear this time has not been released on video, and was hardly known even to enthusiasts. This work, “MOSCOW MUSIC PEACE FESTIVAL: DAY 2”, records this precious live performance with excellent multi-camera pro shots leaked by related parties. Although the original is VTR material, the image quality is very sharp due to the high master freshness, and the screen is surprising without any blurring or blurring. The sound is also a perfect stereo soundboard sound source, and you can enjoy the band ensemble, including Ozzy’s vocals, Zack’s guitar, and Geezer’s bass, with quality that is comparable to the official video. This festival is known to have had trouble between BON JOVI and Ozzy (and MOTLEY CRUE) over the headliner. Ozzy ended up handing over the headliner role to BON JOVI, so the set was about 50 minutes long, but the set structure that could be heard on the US tour and Japan tour was maintained, with new songs from the opening “I Don’t Know”, “Shot In The Dark”, and “NO REST FOR THE WICKED”, as well as a SABBATH medley of “Sweet Leaf” and “War Pigs”, and a dense live performance was held in a short time. The live performance in the stadium filled with a large crowd under the bright sunlight was full of wonderful spectacles, and you can see that the band’s enthusiasm is very high. The audience was also in a good mood that overturned the stereotype of the eastern side at that time, and the excitement was comparable to that of festivals in the US and the UK (the reaction from “Shot In The Dark” to “Miracle Man” was overwhelming). From the SABBATH numbers “Sweet Leaf” and “War Pigs” with Geezer’s bass growling, to “Tattooed Dancer” with Randy Castillo’s powerful drums, to “Suicide Solution” with Zach’s guitar solo, the arrangement of songs that put the spotlight on each member is also wonderful, and fans will be glued to the screen until the last “Paranoid”. Even in ’88 and ’89, which were the heaviest and wildest years of Ozzy’s solo career, this work, which is a cut of a live performance that can be said to be a highlight, is more impressive than the standard Philadelphia performance in June ’89! Of course, it comes with an original menu only for this work. Please enjoy the highlights of the “NO REST FOR THE WICKED” tour along with the press CD title “NO REST FOR THE ROSEMONT”!
