Description

Ozzy Osbourne, the king of rock, appeared at the last historic festival of the 1980s. This set features two of his finest pro shots. This work features two videos from one show: a multi-camera pro shot of the August 13, 1989 Moscow Music Peace Festival performance. At the time, Ozzy was on the “NO REST FOR THE WICKED Tour,” featuring his old friend Geezer Butler and new partner Zakk Wylde. While “PHILADELPHIA 1989″ reigns supreme as the representative video of the time, the Moscow performance pro shots are considered to be the two greatest pinnacles. This is a good opportunity to first take a bird’s-eye view of their activities at the time and confirm their positional relationship. 1987 (April: Jake E. Lee leaves the band → May: Zakk Wylde joins) July 28th + December 15th: Warm-up (2 shows) 1988 (May: Geezer Butler joins) July 7th-23rd: UK (12 shows) (September 28th: ”NO REST FOR THE WICKED” released) November 16th-December 31st: North America #1a (29 shows) 1989 January 6th-30th: North America #1b (16 shows) February 27th-March 10th: Japan (7 shows) March 29th-May 5th: Europe (27 shows) June 1st-August 5th: North America #2 (37 shows) ←※PHILADELPHIA 1989 August 12th-13th: Moscow Music Peace Festival ←★Here★ {August: Geezer Butler leaves} This is Ozzy Osbourne during the “NO REST FOR THE WICKED” era. The “Moscow Music Peace Festival” was the very last of the world tour. The “August 13” performance in this work was the second of two days and also the final performance worldwide. This show was known for being broadcast on TV at the time, and some of it was even used in official video productions. It has reigned as a major staple of the “NO REST FOR THE WICKED” era. This work is a recording of such iconic pro shots with the finest master. Moreover, it is a set of two different versions. Let’s take a look at each of the two versions separately. DISC 1: Highest Quality Version by a Master Leaked by an Involved Person First up is the highest quality version of the iconic video. It’s a master leaked by an involved person, and its quality is completely official. Although it’s a video master, it’s vivid and clear even to modern eyes accustomed to digital. Moreover, it’s natural because it’s not a vividness created by digital processing. Although it’s been several years since its discovery, this remains the pinnacle of excellence. DISC 2: A Different Angle Version Produced by an Overseas Enthusiast. DISC 2 is a different version recently produced by an overseas enthusiast. This footage exists in various versions, including the MTV broadcast version, the Soviet broadcast version, and the official LD release version, and the best takes of each song are sourced from these. It is a reconstruction of the full set (the version uploaded to a certain major video site is missing “War Pigs,” but this is the complete version). In fact, in terms of quality alone, DISC 1 could be considered the best take of every song, but the key point of this footage is that it also features “different angles.” Please don’t get confused, this different angle is not from the previous day, “August 12th” (the difference between the two days is clear from Ozzy’s outfit, which is torn and has one shoulder exposed on “August 13th”). While all songs are from “August 13th,” some tracks are shown at completely different angles on the retail version and other broadcasts, allowing you to enjoy all the songs by mixing them together. That said, not all songs are shown at different angles. Keeping this in mind, let’s organize the full set from that day. Sabbath era (3 songs): Sweet Leaf (★), War Pigs, Paranoid (★); Solo (7 songs): Randy era: I Don’t Know (★), Flying High Again, Suicide Solution (★), Crazy Train; Jake era: Shot In The Dark (★); Zack era: Miracle Man, Tattooed Dancer. Note: “★” indicates songs with different angles on Discs 1 and 2. As a result, five of the ten songs performed that day have different angles. This release also includes a bonus track, “I Don’t Know,” from the previous day, August 12th. This is a rare Soviet broadcast version. Regardless of the angle, “Tattooed Dancer” is a must-see. This track was exclusive to the “NO REST FOR THE WICKED Tour,” and this final performance marked the band’s final performance in history. Not only that, but the arrangement is also key. While Randy Castillo’s drum solo is typically inserted midway through concerts, including “PHILADELPHIA 1989,” the original was performed without the solo at the Moscow festival. The result is a stunning version of this already cool and smashing track, fueled by stage tension and maintaining its momentum to the very end. This release allows you to experience this legendary performance in fully official quality. The “MOSCOW MUSIC PEACE FESTIVAL” was a major event in music history, featuring Geezer Butler and Zakk Wylde. This definitive album features two of their finest professional shots. Disc 1 offers the best of all time, while Disc 2 offers a different angle. This two-disc set features a multi-camera pro-shot of the August 13, 1989 Moscow performance. It features two different versions of the final day of the historic Moscow Music Peace Festival. Disc 1 is the complete version, created by a leaked master of the highest quality version, while Disc 2 is a new version created by an overseas enthusiast. The latter reconstructs all the songs from the day’s performance using MTV broadcasts, Soviet broadcasts, and official product versions, and features five tracks with different angles compared to Disc 1. Additionally, it includes a rare Soviet broadcast version of “I Don’t Know” from the previous day, August 12, making this the definitive edition.
