Description
Finally, finally, the time has come to permanently preserve that legendary live album! The only recording of the ultra-rare track “So Tired,” and a symbolic work of the strongest Carmine Appice era, is set to be released!! This album captures the “Leicester concert on November 10, 1983,” in a superb audience recording. There are three key points to this album: “The strongest Carmine Appice era ensemble,” “The ultimate rare track ‘So Tired’,” and “Master Crazy S. Collection + top-of-the-line updated mastering.” To explain these, let’s start with some basic information. 1983: Jake joins the band; January 12-30: Europe #1 (13 shows) [Bridgewater → Ailey replacement]; February 11-April 5: North America #1 (34 shows) [Costa → Daisley replacement]; May 29: US FESTIVAL ← *THE COMPLETE SOUNDBOARD [Aldridge → Carmine Appice replacement]; November 10-December 22: Europe #2 (32 shows) ← ★HERE★ 1984: January 10-February 20: North America #2 (31 shows) [Appice → Tommy Aldridge replacement]; March 3-June 10: North America #3 (61 shows) ← *Official video; June 28-July 7: Japan (8 shows) ← *ULTIMATE BARKS: TOKYO 1984 – August 4: Puerto Rico – August 18 – September 2: Europe #3 (5 shows) 1985 – January 16 + 19: ROCK IN RIO (2 shows) ← *Pro-shot [Aldrich/Daisley/Airey leave] *Note: * indicates dates from the Carmine era. This serves as an official substitute for the Carmine era, which did not leave any official works. This is the journey from Jake E. Lee joining to Bob Daisley & Don Airey leaving. The “Carmine era” refers to “Europe #2” and “North America #2,” which were around the time of the release of “Howl at the Moon.” The Carmine era was said to be the “strongest ever,” but did not leave any official works. At our store, we have archived as many masterpieces as possible in order to introduce them to as many people as possible, but among them, the most symbolic were the classic pro-shot “ROCK POP 1983” and the masterpieces “CRY WOLF: STOCKHOLM 1983” and “BETHLEHEM 1984”. Now, let’s take a closer look at the dates and confirm the relative positions of each work. Details of “Europe #2” * November 10: Leicester performance ←★This work★ * November 11 + 14 (2 performances) 《November 15 “Howling at the Moon” released》 * November 15 – December 5 (14 performances) * December 6 “CRY WOLF: STOCKHOLM 1983” * December 8 – 15 (6 performances) * December 17 + 18 “ROCK POP 1983 (Pro Shot)” * December 19 – 22 (3 performances) Details of “North America #2” * January 10 – 16 (6 performances) * January 17 “BETHLEHEM 1984” * January 20 – February 20 (24 performances) This Leicester performance, which is the ultimate rare full set that only happened once, is from earlier than any other work. It was the first day of the tour, before “Howling at the Moon” was released. Actually, this is the most important point. As it was the first day, they performed some extremely rare songs that they soon stopped playing. Let’s check out the full set here. Howling at the Moon (3 songs)・Rock ‘N’ Roll Rebel (★) / Bark At The Moon / So Tired (★★) Others (7 songs + 2 songs)・Randy era: I Don’t Know / Mr. Crowley / Revelation (Mother Earth) (★) / Steal Away (The Night) (★) / Suicide Solution (★) / Flying High Again (★) / Crazy Train (★)・Sabbath era: Iron Man / Paranoid *Note: “★” indicates songs that were not heard on the classic pro-shot “ROCK POP 1983”. “★★” in particular indicates the ultimate rare songs that can only be heard on this release. …And so it goes. The biggest point of all is “So Tired”! Some sources say it was performed at four shows, but most of those claims are questionable. The only audio evidence remaining is from this one Leicester performance. Also, although not mentioned above, pay attention to the opening. The intro to “Centre Of Eternity” is used as the sound effect to announce the start of the show, but in the next recording (BARK AT SHEFFIELD, six days later), it reverts to the usual “Carmina Burana,” making this a unique feature only heard on this recording. Furthermore, it’s worth noting that the intro to “Centre Of Eternity” uses the same real bell sound as the original “Howling at the Moon.” From “BARK AT SHEFFIELD,” six days later, synth sounds are used, and this is the only recording that uses the real bell sound. *Note: For core fans, the “real bell” and “synth bell” are also related to the album “Howling at the Moon.” The widely known original “Howling at the Moon” uses “real bells,” but from the 2002 remix/remaster CD onwards, it has been replaced with “synth bells.” As of 2026, the original MIX version (with real bells) is the main version available for streaming, but the remix version (with synth bells) is circulating on CD. This legendary recording by a master reaches a new peak, and this one-of-a-kind full show delivers an exceptional sound. After all, it’s based on the original cassette by the master engineer “Crazy S.” and has been polished with the latest mastering technology. It has long been known as “one of the finest recordings of the Carmine Appice era,” but this version has had its balance adjusted based on frequency analysis, resulting in a dramatically improved clarity. It has been upgraded to a super-premium level that is in no way inferior to the masterpiece “CRY WOLF”! The extremely rare “So Tired” and “Centre Of Eternity with real bells” alone are cultural treasures, but what’s more, every single track is infused with Carmine Appice’s soulful drumming, making it irresistible. This is a masterpiece with nothing but highlights to listen to. And this is the newest version of it. For audiences from the “Howling at the Moon” era, this is the one to start with. A superb audience recording of the November 10, 1983 Leicester concert, featuring the ultimate rare track “So Tired,” which was only performed once. This is a top-of-the-line updated version, polished with the latest mastering from the original cassette transfer by master engineer “Crazy S.” You can also enjoy the opening sound effects unique to this day and Carmine Appice’s masterful performance in upgraded sound.
