Starting with the fresh re-recorded version of “Let Me Be There” released in 2018, his collaboration with the composer of “Country Roads” for the John Denver tribute, and “Fly Away” with John Denver, two covers of the Carpenters, with whom he was friends, four Beatles covers including a rare “Let It Be” with Cliff Richard, the classic “Candle in the Wind” with Elton John, standard numbers with such greats as Les Paul, Gene Kelly, Dean Martin, and Bob Hope, a collaboration with Glen Campbell in his hometown of Australia, a collaboration with Georgie Fame in 1973, Carole King’s “Will You Love Me Tomorrow” and S&G’s “Scarborough Fair,” and a collaboration with Barry Gibb at a disaster relief concert in 2009, where he performed not only the Bee Gees but also Olivia’s version of “Guilty.” In 1978, the dream collaboration with ABBA and Andy Gibb included a special medley recorded with unreleased stereo master sound sources that were not used on TV at the time. In 1990, Burt Bacharach also appeared in the collaboration with Dionne Warwick, whom he had admired for many years. Following the precious duet with Mariah Carey, the album concludes with a memorial version of “Valentine” and “Wonderful World” performed by a luxurious lineup of Bette Midler, Cher, and Meryl Streep. The recorded sound sources are from various eras, and although the old sound sources are not uniform in terms of noise and deterioration, they have been restored to the best quality updated by the latest remaster, and compared to the streaming videos on the market, this is a highly recommended latest compilation title that has become a valuable CD as a rare sound source collection!
