Description

The tour that Oasis did before Fuji Rock in 2001 was a joint with the Black Crowes. The tour, also known as “Brotherly Love”, was a hot topic in those countries at the time as it featured the two major brother bands from Britain and the United States, but the world saw Oasis as stagnant. Because of the time, it was not often covered by the Japanese media, and there were extremely few items released. Also, at the start of the tour, there was an incident in which Alan White was unable to participate due to a hand problem, and Alan’s older brother, Steve White, was suddenly appointed as his replacement. He has built a reputation as the drummer for Paul Weller’s band for many years, and is the perfect player to replace Alan. Above all, the “brotherly love” was felt even with the drummers. From such a tour, the Indianapolis performance on June 1st was selected as the bonus disc for this first delivery. Audience recording with very good sound quality during the “Brotherly Love” tour, which did not attract attention in Japan from that time and had extremely few items. If this was in 2001, it would have been released on a press CD with ease. The closeness and clearness of the sound image are perfect, and everyone from beginners to enthusiasts will enjoy it. However, what is most surprising is the splendor of the performance. First off, Liam’s voice is in great condition, much better than the Denver webcast from two weeks ago, which was the only decent release from this tour. They were so excited that they almost forgot the lyrics to “Fade Away,” but Noel sang them and reminded them of it, a scene that truly felt like “brotherly love.” And speaking of this tour, it is the drumming of substitute Steve, but of course the feeling is completely different from Alan. While the younger brother’s rhythm is light and bouncy, the older brother’s rhythm is straight and heavy. Steve’s play with a lot of side dishes exploded from “Fade Away”. Among them, the second half of “Gas Panic!”, where the tempo increases, shows a spectacular development that turns them into a completely different band. However, when Noel sings “Step Out”, the speedy feeling of the original song is lost, and when it comes to light songs, Steve’s play seems excessive. However, when “Whole Lotta Love” at the end of “Cigarettes & Alcohol” starts, it’s interesting to hear that Bonzo’s feel comes out because it’s heavier than his younger brother. Not only is the sound quality good, but the content of the performance is wonderful, and it is a valuable sound source that allows you to listen and compare it with your younger brother’s playing at Fuji Rock.
