Description
The 2000 “Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants Tour” kicked off in Japan, and the band embarked on a short EU tour with only three shows before embarking on a North American tour. The first kickoff of Oasis’ world tour in Japan, the Yokohama Arena performance on February 29th, was dismissed by Melody Maker magazine as “the best rehearsal I’ve ever seen” due to the lack of unity as a band and Liam’s lackluster performance. After the departure of old friends Bonehead and Guigsy, and the addition of new members Gem and Andy, there were concerns about Oasis’s status as a live band, but the band gradually became more united during the Japan tour, and they gave a great performance at the Sendai performance on the final day of the tour. After returning to Japan, the band held a micro European leg of only three shows in three countries: France, Belgium, and Germany. The band maintained the same form as in the second half of the Japanese performance here, and their performance was also excellent. This work is the first complete recording title that uses two types of FM soundboard sound sources as the core of the final performance from this short European tour in Cologne, Germany, and complements the three songs that were not broadcast, “Fuckin’ In The Bushes”, “Go Let It Out” and “Rock ‘n’ Roll Star”, with good audience recordings. Liam introduces the song with “Whatever!” and Noel starts playing “Acquiesce”, and at the end of the song he strums The La’s “There She Goes”. Noel, who entrusted the chorus of “Don’t Look Back In Anger” to the audience from the UK tour in mid-July of the same year, said “After you were!” in the second chorus of the day and entrusted the chorus to the audience, and it can be said to be the highlight of the early part of the world tour with many highlights. The bonus tracks include all 11 songs and DJ talk from the Toronto, Canada performance, based on a high-quality FM source (RadioSonic on CBC Radio2). In addition, the soundboard recordings of the TV performances of two new songs, “Where Did It All Go Wrong?” and “I Can See A Liar,” which were removed from the set list at the beginning of the tour, are included, making this a title that allows you to fully relive the band’s activities in the early 2000s.
