Description

Since the debut, 1994 has the impression that the sound sources have become richer as time passes, but the European tour in November is where there is a gaping hole. Despite performing 12 gigs starting with Paris on the 4th, there are only items that include short sound sources such as incomplete radio broadcasts from Paris and radio recorded live performances performed upon arrival in the country. I don’t. In other words, items that document the main part of the tour had not yet appeared. But don’t worry, even to this day, the frustration of such enthusiasts continues to grow. In 2021, the best sound source recording the 1st stage in Europe in November 1994 will be released! This time it will be released in Frankfurt on the 23rd. Of course, the sound source was provided by a British Oasis researcher, and according to him, it is an audience recording that was discovered in recent years, and the sound quality is very wonderful. Batschkapp, which was the stage for this day, is a theater class venue with a capacity of 1500 people, and as expected, the sound image of this sound source is extremely powerful. In addition, it was recorded using DAT, making it an outstanding audience recording that is strange as it has not been released until now. First of all, there is no doubt that you will be surprised by the sound quality alone. Although it is a superb audience that boasts such high quality, what is missed is that the pitch was high. Therefore, in this release, we have carefully adjusted this issue. The high-quality recording, which was already outstanding, has finally been upgraded to make it easier to listen to. Oasis of this year released their immortal masterpiece “Whatever” in December, which diminished the rustic atmosphere of their debut (in a good sense), but in Europe in November, there was nothing but that grassy taste and hasty momentum. It can be said that this was the last period when the band was pushing forward. Liam’s singing voice, which was in top form on this day, eloquently conveys that this is such a special time. From the moment they started singing the opening song “Rock ‘n’ Roll Star”, they were sharp. The singing voice of 1994… Or rather, the youthful singing voice unique to the “DEFINITELY MAYBE” period shines from beginning to end. After all, the sound image is close, so you can hear the clarity of his singing voice up close. In the second half of 1994, for example in the United States last month, Liam’s voice sometimes started to get rough around “Slide Away” depending on the day. Liam’s voice, which had just rushed forward, begins to lose its meaning. Considering that point, Liam’s performance here in Frankfurt is outstanding. In addition, it has been almost three months since “DEFINITELY MAYBE” was released in Germany, and every song has received an enthusiastic response. That must have made them happy, and it was heartwarming to see them all saying “thank you” each time the performance ended. Despite overcoming the band’s first crisis, Noel’s disappearance in the United States at the end of September, you can even feel that they are playing more freely than the brothers in Frankfurt, where they were warmly welcomed by the United States. After “Bring It On Down,” Liam announces that it’s someone’s birthday, and the audience sings “Happy Birthday” over and over again. You could say it was a very peaceful scene. The finishing touch was before starting the final song, “I Am The Walrus,” when Noel asked, “Do you all like the Beatles? Do you too? You too?” and even asked Liam, to which he responded, “Yeah!” while off-mic. The sound quality is so high that you can even hear his replies. At the end, the BGM was played after the performance, but the CD that was being played there caused a playback error and the sound skipped repeatedly, which seems to be a fitting ending for this day. In any case, it is a wonderful audience album that has not been released until now, and the performance content is also the best. As mentioned at the beginning, the release of the finest sound source representing a time when no definitive item existed until now will be realized. It is also the first live sound source released in 1994 since “NAGOYA 1994 DAT MASTER”, which became the definitive masterpiece of the first performance in Japan, and it is also a 1994 item that is on par with that. If you want to hear about Europe in November, this is the place to start! Batschkapp, Frankfurt, Germany 23rd November 1994 TRULY PERFECT SOUND (69:08) 01. Intro 02. Rock ‘n’ Roll Star 03.
