Description

The must-see live footage that will shake up the Oasis community, and indeed the entire rock world, will be released as a flawless dual-layer DVD. This is a major project that took about a year from conception to production! This is the ultimate live footage that can only be seen here, not from internet sources or trader sources! The shock of the release of the best version CD of the culmination of Oasis’s 1997 performance, “DEFINITIVE G-MEX 1997: 2024 REMASTER & REMIX,” is still fresh in our memory (it’s an explosive hit!), but speaking of the 1997 G-MEX, the footage from the day was also broadcast on television, which has also become a standard among standards. However, ironically, although it is a live footage that represents Oasis in their heyday in 1997, there have been almost no decent DVDs released so far…in fact, they all had some kind of problem. A typical example of a DVD that has already been released is “GOOD EVENING TOWN” from the European label a GoodFellas PRODUCTION, but it had various problems such as “the picture quality is grainy,” “it’s cropped and stretched vertically, so the angle of view is strange,” “it doesn’t make up for the missing footage between songs due to commercials,” “the audio has hardly been edited, so skips in parts like Be Here Now and Some Might Say remain the same,” “the sound and video are out of sync,” and “it’s difficult to obtain as of 2024.” Subsequently, “BAGLIM THE FILM” was released by the Bayswater label, but it had many flaws such as “The consistent immersive feeling of the live performance is lost by splitting it into two discs,” “The details of the image are lost due to excessive noise reduction, resulting in a flat texture,” “The contrast adjustment was overdone, resulting in whiteout, and as a result, the image quality is significantly deteriorated,” “The right side of the screen is slightly missing,” “The image itself is stretched horizontally by stretching the screen left and right, perhaps in an attempt to compensate for that missing part, and the angle of view is also strange,” “Fake editing is done to fill in the gaps in the image between songs due to commercials with long shots of the venue in other scenes,” and “A unique huge watermark is always displayed on the screen, which is annoying to watch.” In that case, it was inevitable to release the best version of the video in the flow of releasing the best version of the radio broadcast on the same day in “DEFINITIVE G-MEX 1997: 2024 REMASTER & REMIX,” and if you are a fanatic, you may have guessed the development. As an aside, the idea of producing the best version of the live video of G-MEX had already been raised about a year before the release of the sound source, and by coincidence, both the sound source and the video were released at this close timing. For this release, we prepared the best ingredients for the best dish, and in terms of the quality of the ingredients, this is the highest level among the Oasis releases that have been released so far. Until now, this video was mostly based on a version recorded on VHS from MTV in the UK or the US, but for this release, a VHS was provided that recorded the version broadcast on MTV in Germany in 1998, the year after the live performance, with the highest quality without any exaggeration. This image quality is truly worthy of being called master quality, and the difference is sure to be an eye-opener. The clarity of the image is like a different dimension. The color development and resolution are wonderfully high and there is no whiteout at all. What on earth have we been able to see until now? What were the items we have had until now? Since it was broadcast in 1998, it should be this sharp, but the image quality of past items was too rough. With such astonishing quality video, the overwhelming time mentioned above was spent on literally detailed restoration and remastering work! First of all, the following upgrades have been made in terms of video. 1. Not only the main live performance but also the introduction of the program at that time where “The Boys Are Back In Town” flows was recorded exactly. 2. The color noise / color bleeding peculiar to VHS was removed by filtering and the image quality was corrected. 3. A precise interpolation process was performed on the frame rate to solve the problem of video stuttering during conversion. 4. The audio timing, which was out of sync in the previously released version, was adjusted in milliseconds to achieve perfect synchronization. 5. The parts that are missing in the UK broadcast version and the German broadcast version (after D’ You Know What I Mean?, after Wonderwall, after Fade In-Out, after the end of Acquiesce, the video is missing because there was a commercial at the time of broadcast) were patched with the highlight version video VHS broadcast in Japan, making it the longest recording ever. The image of the Japanese highlight broadcast version VHS was slightly stretched vertically, but this was also corrected to the correct aspect ratio in millimeters and patched. Patch ⑤ is particularly important, as the gaps between songs and the end credits that were missing due to commercials being inserted in the broadcast on the day were patched from the digest version (nostalgic!) VHS that was broadcast in Japan at the time, achieving the longest recording. Moreover, the editing is so smooth that you would not know it unless you were told about the patch…or even if you were told, you would not be able to tell. Since we were able to record in the highest quality version in this way, we naturally perfectly synchronized the sound source of the latest best, “DEFINITIVE G-MEX 1997: 2024 REMASTER & REMIX”. This work was also thorough, and all the subtle audio and audio misalignment that existed in the already released and YouTube versions was eliminated. On top of that, there is no complaint about the highest sound quality version. Since we were so particular about recording in the highest quality in every detail, the recording format is not just DVD, but a dual layer DVD that contains no loss of image quality. As the CD version of “DEFINITIVE G-MEX 1997: 2024 REMASTER & REMIX” has already proven that 1997 was a rare and superb performance by Oasis, it is only natural that they would put in thorough effort and work on the quality and release of this album. In fact, Oasis’ performance on this day was flawless and it was a bliss to be able to enjoy it with perfect image quality and sound quality. The repertoire was only shown on the 1997 stage, such as “Stay Young”, “All Around The World” and “Fade In-Out”. The best part was “Don’t Go Away”, which was specially performed on this day, even though it had already been treated as a regular. Liam, who had been in trouble in Europe and Dublin just before, also sang a perfect song in 120% condition in front of the camera on this day. The best example of this is the scene of this song, and above all, his fearless looks are cool. On the other hand, Noel’s guitar playing phrases became more talkative as the show progressed, and he seemed relaxed. In “Wonderwall”, they even make relaxed gestures towards the camera. And above all, the gorgeous stage set only in 1997. Thus, the super classic video 1997 G-MEX that captured all the charm of Oasis in 1997 has finally been born as the definitive dual layer DVD! A slightly early Christmas present for Oasis maniacs all over the world, no, all rock fans! It is hard to imagine a video release that surpasses this one unless it is officially released like Knebworth. This is truly a historic release that should be called “This is history!” Live at G-MEX Centre, Manchester, UK 14th December 1997 PRO-SHOTTV Programme Source: MTV German TV Broadcast & MTV Japan Highlights TV Broadcast Audio Source: 2024 Remaster & Remix UPGRADE!!! 1.
