This month’s Oasis will be released in an unprecedented pattern of double feature of sound source and video! Regarding the sound source, I think enthusiasts around the world will be surprised by the unexpected selection of eras. The world tour for the 2000 album “STANDING ON THE SHOULDER OF GIANTS” started in Japan, and then the tour went through Europe and then the United States, but the incident broke out in May when they returned to Europe. On the night the show was canceled due to drummer Alan White’s injury, the band went out drinking, and Liam’s drunken lapses about his family (this is the downside of being in a band with your family) lead to a sibling quarrel. The trouble that has been repeated throughout their history, with Noel getting angry and throwing out the tour, reoccurs on this tour. They had already experienced a situation in 1996 when their American tour was interrupted due to a sibling quarrel, delaying the timing of their breakthrough in the country, so they couldn’t afford to end their tour due to a sibling quarrel again. Therefore, the remaining members decided to resume the tour as a last resort. The plan was to continue the tour without Noel, thereby extinguishing the tour contract. Needless to say, canceling a tour will naturally result in a loss of business. In that case, even without Noel, since the band hasn’t disbanded, they have no choice but to continue touring (this is different from 2009, when a sibling fight at the end of the tour led to the band disbanding). In order to overcome this predicament, Matt Deighton was chosen as Noel’s substitute guitarist. He led the band Mother Earth in the late 1990s and was also the guitarist for Paul Weller’s band. Looking back now, I realize that I made the right choice. At that time, he had a wild look with long hair and a beard, but when he joined Oasis as Noel’s substitute, his hair was short and his beard was shaved off, making him look like a different person. As a result, people misunderstood that he had cut his hair in order to join Oasis, but in recent years he has revealed that he had changed his look two days before Oasis contacted him. I can’t believe it was so good. The fact that they were on the same wavelength wasn’t just limited to their looks; as soon as Matt joined the band, they hit it off, and the members kindly taught him about the repertoire and parts. The reorganized tour resumed at the end of May, but we were also lucky that there were a lot of summer festivals during this time, so the performance time per stage was short. This would lighten Matt’s burden, and this was one of the reasons they were able to continue the tour with a substitute guitarist. The live sound source of the “STANDING ON THE SHOULDER OF GIANTS” period is currently often overlooked, but when it comes to Noel’s withdrawal period, there are no items available now. . Oasis researchers from the UK, who always provide us with sound sources, sent us a stereo recording of the Marseille performance on June 19th, a precious time.・Soundboard recording. There were sound sources circulating among traders, but they were incomplete, ranging from “Who Feels Love” to “Stand By Me”. However, this time, it is a shocking version that includes all songs from the opening “Go Let It Out” to the finale “Rock ‘n’ Roll Star”, which will be released for the first time in Japan. It faded out at the ending of the last “Rock ‘n’ Roll Star”, so it was a step short of a complete recording, but since even the audience recording was not discovered on this day in the first place, this is an amazing sound source. What gives an even bigger impact is that it is the highest quality stereo sound board recording. Since it is a sound board recording with PA out, the sense of reality is weak, but compared to similar sound sources that capture ZEP’s 70’s stages, for example, the stereo feeling and clearness have been greatly improved due to the evolution of technology, and it is full of power and is the best. A level that can be enjoyed by everyone from beginners to enthusiasts as a clear sound board recording. Ironically, it is only at this time when Noel is absent that the benefits of the highest quality real stereo sound board recording are maximized. This is because the rare formation in which Gem plays his part and Matt plays the rhythm-centered part that Gem usually plays is extremely clear and can be enjoyed in stereo. In the first place, I can’t help but be surprised by the dexterity with which Gem converted to Noel’s part in less than a week after inviting Matt. There is probably no better sound source to enjoy the wonder of this short-lived combination. Of course, Liam’s voice is also brought to the forefront in the recording, so in songs like “Who Feels Love?” and “Shakermaker” in the first half of the live performance, you can feel that his throat is not fully activated, but in “Roll With It” Things are going well from around here. Also, when I listen to songs like “Stand By Me” and “Cigarettes & Alcohol,” I realize that Liam’s voice quality is still young, and he also has the youthfulness to sing the melody without throwing it away. In addition, “Acquiesce” from this period, which survived by having the audience sing Noel’s part, is a pattern unique to this period. And the real stereo sound with the psychedelic sound decorations unique to “STANDING ON THE SHOULDER OF GIANTS” such as “Who Feels Love” and “Gas Panic!” flying left and right is a masterpiece! Matt himself, who served as a pinch hitter, said, “Every stage was a great success” and “At the end, Noel came back and we all went to see Peter Green live.” This is the shocking first stereo soundboard album from the stage during Noel’s absence, which is an overwhelmingly fond memory. Please enjoy the rare stage that can only be heard at this time with perfect sound quality. Le Dome de Marseille. Marseille, France 19th June 2000 STEREO SBD(74:56) 1. Intro. 2. Go Let It Out 3.
