Description
The legendary rare track series “OUTCESTICIDE” in the history of sound sources that rivals the official works. The latest installment is here. [The sequel to the phantom series that was killed in an instant] There is no need to talk about the “OUTCESTICIDE” series. It is a collection of unreleased studio tracks and extremely rare live performances, and has reigned as the “most famous/most popular bootleg” since the 1990s. It is unparalleled in both rarity and quality, and is a series that can be said to be synonymous with NIRVANA sound sources. The original series has been on a long hiatus since the fifth installment, “OUTCESTICIDE V: DISINTIGRATION,” released in 1998. Rumors that “the sixth installment will be released!” have been circulating and disappearing many times (although there are countless copies and fake sequels). The legendary series really started moving in February 2022. The unexpected sequel was actually announced. Of course, collectors around the world were shocked. “Is it really real!?” I was surprised and delighted, even though I was skeptical. However, an incident occurred here. Sales were stopped immediately after the release. It is rumored that pressure was applied from a certain collector, but the truth remains unknown. Only a very small number, said to be less than 10 copies, were released to the public, and it stopped. [Further upgrade specifications by researchers] Of course, a core maniac who obtained a very small number of the real thing has released it online. If you are an avid collector, you will know that copies are already on the market. This work also originates from the super rare real thing “OUTCESTICIDE 2022”, but it is not exactly the same. NIRVANA researchers have investigated and verified it in detail. It is a further upgraded one. There are three major points of the upgrade. Treatment of rough editing marks First of all, the original editing marks, which were somewhat rough, have been beautifully arranged. Of course, the essential performance sound was not touched at all, but the original version had strangely long silent parts and a clicking feeling. This work also values the completeness of the musical work, and such imperfections have been neatly arranged (there are no missing parts due to fades, etc.). Completing the missing parts of the original version This is the biggest one. The original version had a surprising number of rare takes, but there were two tracks that needed to be supplemented. One was HOLE’s “Closing Time”. The original version only had the performance, but this work also includes comments by BBC’s famous DJ John Peel. The other was Kurt’s home demo “Old Age”. The original version was “4:43”, but it originally had an intro and an untitled unreleased song (called “Screen” among collectors). In this work, it has been reproduced in full length from the best quality tape. Due to these two additions, this work is more than two minutes longer than the original version (or its copy). Correcting recording data errors This has nothing to do with the sound, but there was a credit error on one take of the original version. The live take of “The Man Who Sold The World” was credited as “San Diego performance on December 29, 1993,” but it was actually “Inglewood performance on December 30, 1993,” the next day. In this way, this work has been polished by thorough verification that goes back not only to the location but also to the origin. After further accuracy improvements, this work, which has been permanently preserved, is engraved with a treasure group of 18 tracks. The actual CD is randomly composed as with the original version, but for ease of explanation, we will divide it into “studio recordings” and “live recordings” and rearrange them in chronological order. [Studio recordings (8 tracks)] April 1990 session (2 songs) “Sappy (Mix 2)” “Lithium (Mix 3)” The studio recordings are roughly divided into three. The oldest is the April 1990 session when Chad was still enrolled. These are the first takes of the two songs, “Sappy” and “Lithium”. May 1991 “NEVERMIND” Sessions (2 songs) “Sappy” and “Lounge Act” Next are two tracks from the sessions during the production of “NEVERMIND”. “Lounge Act” was also available on the box set “WITH THE LIGHTS OUT”, but the version used in this work is the high-quality version that was leaked in 2015. “Sappy” is also a take that was leaked in 2015. April 1992 Sessions (2 songs) “Return Of The Rat (instrumental mix)” and “Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge On Seattle (instrumental mix)” Two songs recorded at “Laundry Room Studio”. “Return Of The Rat” is a cover recorded for the WIPERS tribute album “8 SONGS FOR GREG SAGE AND THE WIPERS”. On the other hand, “Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge On Seattle” was also included in the 20th anniversary album “IN UTERO”, but this is a different mix. Other demos (2 songs) – “Screen / Old Age (home demo)” “Closing Time (January 21, 1993)” The aforementioned “Screen / Old Age” is a home demo by Kurt, and the specific recording date is unknown. It is thought to have been recorded between spring 1991 and fall 1992. “Closing Time” is also the aforementioned HOLE demo. It was also included in “OUTCESTICIDE II”, but this time it is an upgraded take that is longer and has better sound quality. [Live recording (10 tracks)] “BLEACH” era (1989: 2 songs) “Mr. Moustache (November 3)” “Where Did You Sleep Last Night? (November 29)” Soundboard live from November 1989 when Chad was a member. “Where Did You Sleep Last Night?” is a take from the Geneva performance, which was the world premiere. “NEVERMIND” era (4 songs) 1991 “Come As You Are (AUD: September 16th)” 1992 “The Money Will Roll Right In (July 2nd)” “Rape Me (September 11th)” “In Bloom (October 30th)” Four takes were also excavated from the “NEVERMIND” era, which became the favorite of the era. Basically, all the live performances in this work are superb soundboards, but only “Come As You Are” is an audience recording. “IN UTERO” era (1993: 4 songs) – “Serve The Servants (April 9th)” before Pat joined – “Oh, Me (MTV rehearsal)”, “Unknown Jam (December 29th)”, “The Man Who Sold The World (December 30th)” after Pat joined In 1993, one song was recorded before Pat Smear joined and three songs were recorded after joining. “Oh, Me” is particularly different. This is not a stage live but a rehearsal at the time of “MTV UNPLUGGED IN NEW YORK”. As with the main album, Lori Goldston and Chris & Kurt Kirkwood also participated. This is a collection of treasures spanning 73 minutes and 18 tracks. This is the latest work in the legendary series that was praised as “better than the official work”, and is a phantom masterpiece that disappeared into the darkness as soon as it was excavated. This is the biggest topic of 2022, and it is an upgrade by researchers around the world. REVISED POINTS Track 01: Closing Time We have included at the beginning/end of BBC DJ John Peel’s comments from his radio show, August 1994. It was the first time this song was heard by collectors and fits nicely with this major upgrade. John Peel was a big fan of Nirvana and Hole. Track 14: Screen / Old Age The Outcesticide 2022 CD misses the opening 30 second untitled song from this home recording, known to collectors as ‘Screen’. We have included ‘Screen’ here from the same source tape. The latest edition of the legendary rare compilation “OUTCESTICIDE”. This is the sixth edition released for the first time in 24 years, but it is a phantom masterpiece that was immediately discontinued with only a small number of copies (less than 10). Not only has it been reprinted from the actual product, but it has also been upgraded to treat the rough editing marks and add about 2 minutes of sound source. Featuring eight studio recordings and ten live tracks, this is a new masterpiece worthy of the name of the legendary series, which has been praised as “better than the official work.”
