Description
“MAN IN MOTION” was NIGHT RANGER’s last work in the 1980s. NIGHT RANGER, who were recognized as a “ballad band,” did not receive a high reputation in general, as this was an album that led to their disbandment due to lack of hits. However, as you can understand by listening to the newly released “ROCK IN MOTION”, NIGHT RANGER on the live stage was oriented toward hard rock, just like when they debuted in 1982. From that point of view, it can be said that it was the same methodology as RAINBOW at the time with Joe Lynn Turner. Although the album is focused on melodious and catchy “selling lines”, the live performance allows you to fully enjoy the hard sound that maintains the band’s character…If you listen to this work “TOKYO IN MOTION”, you will be able to hear the sounds of 1988. You can understand that the same performance was carried out at the 4th performance in Japan, which was held in November. This work is a recording of the first day of the 1988 Japan tour, which had four performances, at Tokyo’s Nakano Sunplaza on November 14th, from the original cassette master provided by the recorder. For this tour, the Shibuya Public Hall performance on November 19th (last day in Japan) was made into an official video, but for that reason, there are few sound sources etc. of other live performances. The appearance of this sound source is good news for NIGHT RANGER fans. Compared to the impeccable recording heard in “2ND WISHES IN BUDOKAN”, it is a step down, giving the impression that it is a high quality audience recording at the time. It is very unfortunate that the recording time is about half of the live performance and is an incomplete version. Still, the live performance revived with the freshness and excellent brightness unique to the original master is worth listening to. The lively sense of presence created by the audience’s applause is also vivid. Given the rarity of the 1988 live show, and the even rarer sound source from Japan, NIGHT RANGER fans will not want to miss it! The live started with “Touch Of Madness” like the live in America. “When You Close Your Eyes,” “Sister Christian,” which is played quickly after Jack’s greeting, “I’m glad you’re back in Tokyo after three years,” and the new song “Don’t Start Thinking (I’m Alone) You can listen to the melodious songs carefully. The soft and sophisticated songs that are directly reminiscent of NIGHT RANGER at the time are amazing beyond the sound quality! The famous song “Sing Me Away” will also be performed to the excitement of the entire venue. Furthermore, “Play Rough”, which cannot be heard on “ROCK IN MOTION”, is a must-hear part! Furthermore, “Let Him Run”, “Four In The Morning”, and “Half Way To The Sun” also have an exquisite ensemble that is irresistible. In addition to Jack Blaze’s singing, the twin leads of Jeff Watson and Brad Gilles, and the powerful beats produced by Kelly Keigy, will make you enjoy the finest live sound. It was a performance that wiped out the misconception that NIGHT RANGER was a ballad band at the time! Unfortunately, the recording ends at the beginning of “Sentimental Street”. Very disappointing since it was the climax of the live performance! This work is a documentary title that captures the fact that “NIGHT RANGER live was so amazing in 1988!” Along with “ROCK IN MOTION”, this is a great song that will satisfy your desire to “listen to more of their live performances”! Please enjoy the live power that you cannot experience at official live performances with this work!
