Description
After two months of recharging, the early PINK FLOYD reprint project NICK MASON’S SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS is back in action. The first masterpiece live album is now available. This work includes “July 3, 2019 Ulm performance (Germany)”. This is a masterpiece audience recording that records the concert on the first day of the tour that is currently underway. At our store, we have always delivered real-time sound reports since the project’s launch in 2018, but the 2019 tour has come to a halt with the North American/UK leg in early spring. In July, we moved on to the continental Europe edition. First of all, as always, let’s check the show’s position in their overall history. ●2018, May 20-24: UK #1 (4 performances), September 2-21: Europe #1 (15 performances), September 23-29: UK #2 (6 performances) )●20 2019, March 12th – April 22nd: North America (28 performances), April 29th – May 4th: UK #3 (5 performances), July 3rd – 27th: Europe #2 (15 performances) Performance) ←★Here★ This is the schedule announced so far. Their full-fledged start began with “Europe #1,” but they returned to continental Europe this year as well. We plan to conclude 2019 with 15 performances of “Europe #2”. This work, which records such a first day, is a magnificent audience recording full of elegance. It is very valuable and unique to be able to realistically record the pre-show scene for more than 12 minutes and listen to the opening SE in full, but what is even more wonderful is the sound. Recently, their live albums have been roughly categorized into three types: “Clear Type,” “Dynamic Type,” and “Mood Type.” If you follow that, the sound of this work is “Dynamic Type.” ” is typical. The thick core boasts a direct feel, but the sound emitted from that core is also thick. It not only makes the exposed core emitted from the PA glossy, but also gives the performance a solid feel and weight. In fact, this “dynamic type” is also the most popular. It has more punch in the midrange than the “clear type”, which specializes in edges, and the deep bass is also impressive. Of course, it would be putting the cart before the horse if the sound clouded the outline, but there is no need to worry about that with this work. Even though it is thick, it has a sense of transparency, and the sound becomes powerful. It literally embodies the “dynamism of rock.” The first day of “Europe #2” drawn with that sound is so wonderful that you won’t feel the two-month blank. Speaking of the first day, I’m curious about the set, but the conclusion is that it is the same as “North America/UK #3”. Let’s organize the contents. ●Singles from the 60s (3 songs)・Arnold Layne, See Emily Play, Point Me At The Sky●“Whistling at Dawn (4 songs)”・Interstellar Overdrive, Astronomy Domine, Lucifer Sam, Bike ●“Mystery (5 songs) ”・Let There Be More Light, Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun, A Saucerful Of Secrets, Remember A Day (from North America), Vegetable Man (outtake)●“More (2 songs)”・The Nile Song, Green Is The Color ●“Atomic Heart Mother (2 songs)”・If, Atom Heart Mother●“Meddle (2 songs)”・Fearless, One Of These Days ● Obscured By Clouds, When You’re In, Childhood’s End (from North America)…and it goes like this. This is the largest set that covers the repertoire to date, and even the song order is the same as “North America/UK #3”. Here we are showing off a set that can be said to be the “conclusion of 2019” that was completed after repeated fine-tuning at the beginning of the North American tour. And the performance that spins the set is also wonderful. It feels a little stiff since it’s only the first day, but that doesn’t mean I’m not used to it, it just feels solid. I feel the power that exudes the desire to restart even though it is busy. NICK MASON’S SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS is back on the move. This is a live album where you can experience that first day with the finest dynamic sound. Although they got their start in their hometown of London, it was in continental Europe that they began their rapid progress. The first shot of the restart in Germany, which was the main battleground in “Europe #1”. Live at Klosterhof Wiblingen, Ulm, Germany 3rd July 2019 PERFECT SOUND Disc 1(61:44) 1. Intro 2.
