NICK MASON’S SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS is a popular project that continues to release masterpiece live albums almost every day. One piece that will complete the European collection has been decided to be released. Nick Mason was the man who revived early FLOYD into the modern era, but his reputation far exceeded his expectations. The debut gig held in early spring of 2018 was a small show with about 300 people, but the popularity generated rumors and led to a tour throughout Europe. At our store, we have reported on this through numerous masterpiece live albums. This work is one of them. It is a masterpiece audience recording of “September 20, 2018 Milan Performance”. In fact, the show is so great that it has attracted the attention of recording artists all over Europe, and most of the shows have the best recordings on board. However, on the other hand, it has not gone beyond the level of popularity among enthusiasts due to the activity concept of “no hit songs from the latter half”. This is where this work appeared. NICK MASON’S SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS started in May 2018, and dates for spring 2019 have also been announced. Most of the shows are in my home country of England, but only 15 shows from September 2nd to 21st will be held overseas. This work is the 14th performance. The quality of this work is a wonderful recording that is safe even for first-time users. I can’t say “this is No. 1!” just because it’s a tour that has released a large amount of masterpieces, but it’s at a level where it would be no surprise for other bands to be No. 1. Although it is a real audience recording, the powerful performance resonates with plenty of response, and the venue acoustics make the performance glossy but do not muddy the details. A sharp core pierces through the center like a laser beam and flies into your hand. And this sound is delicious. Currently, soundboard-like recordings tend to be popular, but the main character of this work is the early FLOYD number. Next to the song and performance, “space” is also an important element, and the sense of direction of the sound effects and the feeling of standing in the midst of the sound are also part of music. This work has an excellent sense of realism that combines these elements. When you write it like this, you may imagine a recording where the sound wraps around, but that is not the case. If the image is blurry and blurry, you can’t expect a three-dimensional effect. The sense of space is created by the fact that the core and details are delivered straight to the center, and the “world of sound” expands. In fact, the original sound released online was too spacious, but in this work, the sound has been carefully mastered to organize it. Finished with an exquisite sound with a single core. In fact, in this work, even Nick’s MC is clear. On this tour, the famous phrase, “Do you all know? We are not Australia’s Rogers Waters or Denmark’s David Gilmour. NICK MASON’S SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS!” is a familiar phrase that excites each venue. However, at this Milan performance, the song “We are not the Peruvian Pink Floyd” was added. It is a sound that you can clearly hear every word. SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS has continued to tour and the gears of the five members have become tightly interlocked. It is clear from the groove that has become even more natural and rich. A masterpiece live album where you can experience many of those wonderful early FLOYD numbers with wonderful sound.
