Description
Whether you’re wondering, “Will it come out again?” or “I’m not interested because it’s too early,” please pay attention to this time. This work is the ultimate live album that has finally appeared. An extremely masterpiece that symbolizes not only a musical work, but also the very existence of the project. Introducing a masterpiece that has no equal. The main character of this work is, of course, NICK MASON’S SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS. At our store, we have been paying attention to the early PINK FLOYD reprint project from the moment it started, and have continued to report on its trends through live albums. This work is the “top” of that. A super famous recording that has surpassed many previous masterpieces and reached the ultimate peak. Currently, there is no talk of an official release, but this work is also the pinnacle of NICK MASON’S SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS itself. It is a live album that can be wholeheartedly recommended not only to those who have been looking forward to the report so far, but also to those who are wondering, “After all, what is NICK MASON’S SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS?” This work includes “Paris performance on September 10, 2018”. This time, it’s perfect for first-timers, so let’s take a look back at their activities in their entirety. [2018]・May 20th-24th: UK #1 (4 performances) – about 3 months later-・September 2nd-21st: Europe (15 performances)←★Here★・September 23rd- 29th: UK #2 (6 performances) [2019] April 29th – May 4th: UK #3 (4 performances) This is the schedule announced so far. After holding four showcase-like performances in May 2018, it began in earnest in September. They toured all over Europe with 21 performances. The Paris performance of this work is the 7th concert in “Europe”. It’s a show from a while ago, but there’s a reason for that. Currently, all the dates have been completed, and the sound source summary by the mania is almost complete. This work was preserved until that timing. At our store, we believed that the best works should be preserved forever, so we waited until it was confirmed that “there is no better than Paris.” It is the “best masterpiece” that is the result of repeated scrutiny. The sound is truly superb. There is no slight distortion in the active and strong core, and the fine details are as clear as examining an oil painting with a magnifying glass. Although it is so clear that you forget the sense of distance or even the existence of the atmosphere, the sound is as beautiful as velvet. The high notes of the synth extend straight into the void, and the deep bass vibe is delicate, as if testing the performance limits of speakers and headphones. And there is not even a single cloud in the midrange that dances wildly in between. Normally, I would write “like a soundboard” or “official class”, but I’m hesitant to even say that. A dimension where the type of recording method no longer has any meaning. It is a sound that challenges the ultimate in music recording, and it is a world of beautiful sound that makes you marvel at the fact that a CD can reproduce so much sound. This work is an even more meticulous remastering of such a transcendental recording. Of course, it’s not just a matter of gaining sound pressure. Rather, I just suppressed the very slightly strong treble and adjusted the overall balance. It is a fine adjustment that is difficult to understand unless you listen to it with headphones, but the miraculous sound should remain in its ultimate form. We have refined the finish to reach a height that will never be surpassed. The paradise of early FLOYD numbers drawn with such ultimate sound is overwhelming. For those who have already experienced many live albums, I don’t think there is anything new besides the transcendent sound, but for those who are new to it, their show is thorough and limited to early FLOYD. The set ranges from the 60’s debut single “Arnold Layne” to 1972’s “Shadow of the Clouds.” Only the famous songs from before the stage changed with “Madness” will be fully performed. The vintage mood was overwhelming, and songs that were only played in the 60’s, such as “Lucifer Sam”, “Let There Be More Light”, “See Emily Play”, “Bike”, and “Point Me at the Sky” were played one after another. Even in the 1970s, songs such as “Fearless” and “The Nile Song” that could not be expected from the original FLOYD, and even “Vegetable Man”, which was an outtake from “Mystery”, are revived with live performance. That’s not to say he’s just a maniac, which is great. “One Of These Days,” “Astronomy Domine,” and “Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun,” which are familiar solos by Dave Gilmour and Roger Waters, will also be played, as well as “Atomic Heart Mother,” which was not available in the original version. ‘Atom Heart Mother’ and ‘If’ will be performed in a uniquely arranged medley. The members who perform such a set are also British masters. Guy Pratt, who was also a touring member of FLOYD, sings while serving as Nick’s rhythm partner, Gary Kemp of SPANDAU BALLET is a singer and guitarist, Lee Harris of THE BLOCKHEADS is on the other guitar, and on keyboards. Dom Beken is known as a producer/composer. All of them have impeccable performance skills backed by long careers, and have a deep understanding of FLOYD music. Moreover, this work is the 11th performance including the warm-up in May, and although the ensemble is starting to get used to it, it is still fresh. Compared to Gilmore and Waters, NICK MASON’S SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS has a somewhat maniacal image, but when you actually listen to it, you’ll find that it’s full of famous songs that are familiar to your ears, as well as fresh arrangements and modern sounds. The reason why there is a rush of releases at our store is because the world is so wonderful that people are constantly asking to hear more. This work is their “top” record. The transcendental sound will shock those who have already been exposed to many live albums, and it is also a great one to experience for the first time. This is a cultural heritage of live albums that everyone should experience. Live at Olympia, Paris, France 10th September 2018 ULTIMATE SOUND Disc 1 (51:54) 1. Soundscape 2. Interstellar Overdrive 3.
