Description
In 1970, all the members were British, but the band was formed in Hamburg, Germany, and continued to be based in Germany. This rare soundboard recording of a live performance from the 1970s by this German progressive hard rock band is available here, all from radio on-air masters unearthed in recent years. Disc 1 records a performance in St. Louis on April 2, 1975. This was the peak of their career, when their sixth album, Recycled, was released in the same year, and is said to be their masterpiece. The title track and one other song are also performed from the album. The performance features a hard symphonic sound featuring electric keyboards and guitars, and is a convincing performance that was later covered by Iron Maiden and others. Disc 2 records a live performance in New York on October 18, 1977, after the release of their seventh album, Magic Is a Child. This album was released after guitarist Roy Albrighton left the band and Dave Nelson joined. Until then, the band had a progressive attitude inspired by 60’s psychedelia and a British lyricism like Yes, but after this member change, the band’s hard rock style became even more pronounced. It is also interesting to note that the album numbers are of course the suite of the title track “Remember The Future” from their fourth album released in 1973. In 2015, the band performed in Japan for the first time in 46 years since their formation, and as their popularity is increasing, this is a must-listen for fans of progressive hard rock. DISC 1 : 01.
