Description
From the 1973 “TIME FADES AWAY” tour, a complete recording of the live performance at Winterland, San Francisco on March 20th, from a recently discovered high-quality audience recording master at the time. Although there is a sense of distance in the performance due to aging and analog-like monaural audience recording from the early 70’s, the hard performance and Neil’s broken singing voice are clearly reproduced throughout the entire volume. Initially, the first half of this tour featured acoustic repertoire from albums such as that album and “After The Gold Rush”, backed by Stray Gators, who recorded the hit album “Harvest”. And even at this live performance, the depth of the sound, the groove, the delicate emotional resonance of the acoustics, and the many sounds that can only be made in this era are truly amazing. David Crosby and Graham Nash also participated in the second half of the live show, so be sure to check out the fact that it was a stepping stone for CSN&Y’s temporary reunion the following year in 1974.
