Description

MOTT THE HOOPLE in 1974 was on the verge of collapse, even as they climbed into a literal golden age with “Revolution (MOTT)” and “Rock’n’ Roll Golden Age (THE HOOPLE).” Introducing Reel Master, which allows you to experience the full show at its best. What is infused into this work is “May 10, 1974 New York performance”. It is an exquisite audience recording recorded on the legendary US tour that welcomed QUEEN as the opening act. Speaking of 1974, various events occurred in rapid succession, including the release of “THE HOOPLE” and “Brilliant Instigator: Mott Live (LIVE)”, the phantom Mick Ronson era, and the declaration of dissolution. First, let’s look back at Shaw’s position in its history.・March 20th: TOTP performance ・March 21st-27th: UK #1 (6 performances) [“THE HOOPLE” released on March 29th] ・April 4th-June 2nd: North America (44 performances) )←★Coco★・July 5th + 6th: UK #2 (2 performances)《September: Luther Grosvenor leaves → Mick Ronson joins》・October 10th – November 3rd: Europe (18 performances) [“LIVE” released in November] [December 16th: Announcement of dissolution] This is MOTT THE HOOPLE in 1974. The New York performance of this work was the 23rd concert of the “North American” leg that began immediately after the release of “THE HOOPLE”. The Broadway performance that became the A side of the traditional official live album “LIVE” was also the same “North American” leg, but that one was “March 8th/9th”. In other words, this work is a live album where you can fully experience “the day after the traditional version”. Moreover, the sound is also exquisite. The best thing about it is the clarity and direct feeling. It is not so close that it can be mistaken for a sound board, and the tone has an audience recording quality, but it does not feel far away. It is a masterpiece that was digitized by the prestigious “Krw_co” from a newly discovered reel master called “the Grape Tapes”, and the core that penetrates through the transparent atmosphere is plenty of response. Each instrument is neatly separated, Ian Hunter’s guitar brings the slight picking nuances clearly in front of you, and the rolling piano touch is also clear. Although the bass has a warm sound and the attack sound doesn’t jump out, you can still clearly hear the movement of the flowing line, and you can clearly hear each vocalist in the chorus and every word of the lyrics. Although it has an audience-like feel, it is a vivid recording that does not seem like a spatial recording. What is drawn with such a beautiful sound is a full show that is like experiencing the A side of the traditional edition “LIVE” on site. In fact, the 30th anniversary edition of “LIVE” also included a long live album, but this work is about 10 minutes longer. In order to explain the contents, let’s organize the contents of the set here.・Mad Shadows: Walking With A Mountain ・All The Young Dudes: Sucker/Sweet Jane/One Of The Boys/All The Young Dudes ・Revolution: All The Way From Memphis/Hymn for the Dudes/Drivin’ Sister/Violence・The Golden Age of Rock ‘n’ Roll/Roll Away The Stone/Rest In Peace/Born Late ’58/Marionette/Crash Street Kidds・Others: American Pie/End Jam…and so on. I am. In reality, there are many medley arrangements across albums, so some songs are not complete, but you can understand that you can enjoy the volume of songs that is incomparable to the A side of “LIVE”. Actually, the 30th anniversary edition of “LIVE” is almost the same in terms of set, but the big difference is the last of the show. The official version ends with the final song “Walking With A Mountain”, but in this work, the jam time that follows with solos by Ian and Dale Griffin is also recorded, and Ian’s greeting and the end of the show are also recorded. BGM is also recorded for more than 2 minutes. This is a new edition of the live album that allows you to fully experience the show the next day on side A of the traditional edition “LIVE”. A fresh master sound discovered by the prestigious “Krw_co”. Live at Uris Theater, New York, NY, USA 10th May 1974 TRULY PERFECT SOUND (76:05) 1. Intro 2. American Pie 3.
