Description
MOTORHEAD in 1998 created the strongest trio comparable to the Golden Age, and even produced the official work “EVERYTHING LOUDER THAN EVERYONE ELSE”, which is said to be the masterpiece. Their powerful soundboard album is here. What is engraved in this work is “July 18, 1998 Summerset Performance”. At that time, MOTORHEAD trampled the world with their final trio’s second album, “SNAKE BITE LOVE”. The performance had improved enough to record the super masterpiece “EVERYTHING LOUDER”. First of all, let’s check the show’s position from the tour schedule, which can be called the “second peak period”. ・February 26th + March 1st: North America #1 (2 performances) [“SNAKE BITE LOVE” released on March 10th] ・April 3rd: Universal City performance ・April 30th – June 30th: Europe #1 (26 performances) ← *Official version ・July 3rd – August 2nd: North America #2 (OZZFEST: 20 performances) ←★Here★ ・August 12th – 23rd: Europe #2 (4 performances)・October 4th – November 29th: Europe #3 (32 performances) This is MOTORHEAD’s 1998. After the release of “SNAKE BITE LOVE,” they traveled around Europe and moved to the United States. I participated in the festival tour “OZZFEST” hosted by my old friend Ozzy Osbourne. The summer set performance of this work was the 11th concert. This work, which records such a show, is truly a masterpiece soundboard. I’d like to say that it’s a bit dusty and the mix is rough to call it “official grade”, but that’s just the standard. The main character of this work is MOTORHEAD, so of course it’s not normal, and being dusty is a virtue, and being rough is a compliment. Rather, it is a wonderful direct sound board that is on the same level as their official live work. However, compared to the super masterpiece “EVERYTHING LOUDER”, it does not have such a powerful sound pressure, but it is natural and easy to listen to. You might say that this feeling is rather similar to “NO SLEEP ‘TIL HAMMERSMITH.” In any case, it is a masterpiece that makes you want to compare it with historical masterpieces. What is drawn with that sound is a special show that is a further compression of the rich “EVERYTHING LOUDER”. Now, let’s organize the set of this work. ● Golden Trio Era (5 songs)・OVERKILL: Stay Clean/No Class/Overkill・ACE OF SPADES: Ace of Spades・IRON FIST: Iron Fist ●Others (3 songs)・NO REMORSE: Killed By Death・SACRIFICE: Over Your Shoulder/Sacrifice…and it looks like this. MOTORHEAD participated as a bird on the 2nd stage, but their set was very short, lasting just over 30 minutes. However, it is dense. For some reason, there are no numbers from “SNAKE BITE LOVE,” and the album focuses on major representative songs from the Golden Age, with two special songs from “SACRIFICE,” which are said to be the “heaviest and most intense” in MOTORHEAD’s history. And the performance that spells out the set is radical! Although it is a trio with potential, released about two months after that “EVERYTHING LOUDER”, it is a short set that ends without getting tired. From the beginning to the end, it goes all at once, heavy and fast, without a moment’s lag! There’s no way this could be a bad thing. Among MOTORHEAD, who have released a large number of official live records, “EVERYTHING LOUDER THAN EVERYONE ELSE” is a super masterpiece that is divided in popularity and reputation with “NO SLEEP ‘TIL HAMMERSMITH.” The trio with Phil Campbell/Mickey Dee remained steadfast until Lemmy’s death, but it was in 1998 that the trio reached their peak potential. A masterpiece soundboard that concentrates the peak power of such a powerful trio into a short set. Float-Rite Park Amphitheater, Somerset, WI, USA 18th July 1998 SBD (31:09) 1. Intro 2. Iron Fist 3.
