Description

In 1975, a superb recording of the May 17th live performance at Philadelphia’s jazz club “Just Jazz” has been released, with an audience sound source that shocked fans and was completely different from the sound source that had been distributed in the past. As stated on the website of Mr. Peter Losin, a world-famous Miles and jazz music collector, Miles appeared at the club “Just Jazz” for 6 consecutive days from May 12th to 17th. Two sets were held each day (9pm and 11pm). It is unknown whether the sound source released on the last day, the 17th, is the first or second show of that day. Peter Losin is also unknown regarding this matter. For the Just Jazz performance, instead of Sonny Fortune, who had accompanied Saxophone to the Japan performance, Sam Morrison, who was only 23 years old, was selected, and Miles said, “Ever since Trane joined my band, I’ve never heard anything as fiery as this.” This is the player who is said to have said, “I’ve never heard a saxophone before.” Sam Morrison, who was liked by Miles, has since accompanied the band to the Bottom Line performance and Avery Fisher performance. May 12-17, 1975: Just Jazz June 10-14, 1975: Bottom Line July 1, 1975: Avery Fisher Now, the superb sound source released this time has been remastered by overseas Miles enthusiasts. It becomes a clear sound source with impact, and the hiss noise that was caused by the aging of the tape is almost not felt. When Al Foster’s drums begin on “Funk” (Prelude Pt.1), which starts after the band’s warm-up, you will be stunned by the sound quality that has surpassed all previous releases. In addition, Miles’s keyboard and trumpet manipulation in “Ife” is also clearly recorded. The jacket photo shows exactly that. The essence of the evolved “Electric Miles” is concentrated here.
