Description

Almost the last and only live performance in his home country with the genius Keith Jarrett, who Miles trusted the most throughout his career! DeJohnette also joined the band on an emergency basis, and the frenzy was astonishing, as expected of New York! The way it burned was different! The definitive version of that famous performance, which had the best performance and the worst sound quality, has finally arrived, vividly revived in ultra-high sound quality! ! When asked who Miles would like to perform with his former members in later years, the only one he mentioned was Keith Jarrett. Miles was a big fan of Keith. On November 26, 1971, at the Philharmonic Hall in New York, when the end of the fun rendezvous with Keith was approaching, this is the culmination of the Miles Group during Keith Jarrett’s time in the group! The definitive version of the crazy live performance has been released, vividly revived in ultra-high sound quality that is unbelievable from the analog-recorded Jazz Masters version! ! With Keith joining the group, Miles tried to orchestrate the bass line. In other words, Keith’s organ playing a double line with the bass caused a subtle difference, and this difference inspired Miles. Then, when Chick Corea and Dave Holland left the group, Michael Henderson, a bassist with a completely different sense of rhythm from jazz, joined the group. This marked the beginning of Miles’ search for the ultimate rhythm that was the essence of Miles in the 70s. It was not jazz, nor rock, nor soul groups. Gary Peart, a member of the group, described the Miles group at the time as free music based on funk. That’s a very apt description. Furthermore, on Keith’s last European tour, the drummer was replaced by Leon Chansler from Jack DeJohnette, and the percussion was replaced by a twin percussionist, Mtume and Don Alias, from Airato. However, Miles returned to the US from Europe, and Keith’s departure from the band was looming after only a few more shows. Whether it was to settle things with Keith or not, Miles called in Jack DeJohnette, the wild general of the time, and put on a passionate live performance in the best situation in New York, which was fitting for the last time! Furthermore, perhaps Miles felt that he was finishing up everything with this band, as listening to the unprecedented frenzy rhythm of “What I Say” at this show, you could hear the footsteps of the next stage, yes, “On the Corner”! ! Burn into your ears the final heroic figure of Miles’ band with the genius Keith Jarrett, which was the culmination of the first step in building their own music by going through rock and digesting funk music! !
