Description

This release is the famous Cologne performance, which is counted among the three best performances of Miles’ band when Keith Jarrett was enrolled. This sound source has been famous for a long time, and although it is a sound board sound source, the broadcast tape is the master, so it is difficult to record completely. Unfortunately, this release is not the “first complete recording!”, but we compared several sound sources that have been available so far and remastered and recorded the one with the best sound quality. Of course, the sound quality has been improved, but the biggest change is the connection part. As mentioned above, since it is an incomplete recording, the titles released in the past have had to be edited to remove the missing parts. Unfortunately, that part has been an obstacle to appreciation. This time, the editing part has been carefully re-edited with the utmost care, so that you can continue listening without any discomfort. In addition, the radio announcement that was inserted between “WHAT I SAY” and “IT’S ABOUT THAT TIME”, which had never been cut before, has been carefully cut and edited and reconnected naturally. As the title suggests, the intense “DIRECTIONS” starts over the stage host’s announcement, then crushes it, and the march begins with a powerful development. Thanks to this new edit, there is nothing to impede the Miles band’s march, and it has been reborn as a spectacular live performance that runs through to the end without rest. Incidentally, in past titles and web trades, “Improvisation” and “INAMORATA” are connected and called “FUNKY TONK”, but here the title is written in the same way as the official box “Cellar Door Sessions”. The attached DVD is a live performance on November 16th of the same year, broadcast on Italian television. The same concert is recorded from two broadcast sources. Each is edited differently, so you can enjoy the same concert from different angles. There is no menu screen. 01. Introduction – DIRECTIONS 02. HONKY TONK 03. WHAT I SAY (incomplete) 04.
