Description

Miles Davis’ turbulent 70s, especially the two concerts that marked the end of 1973, surprised everyone with the sudden and evil transformation of the Miles Band! What on earth happened to Miles in less than a month? The Rotterdam and London concerts, which have been revived with amazing high sound quality, and the London band recordings, have been updated! ! Music that is unlike anyone else’s, music that no one has ever played before, a unique existence that still exists in a different world, that is Miles and his group in the 1970s! And the coolest (live) performance was from 1973 to the Sao Paulo performance in 1974, when Dave Liebman left the band. Among them, the Berlin performance on November 1, 1973 will be forever talked about as a miraculous night (I’m sure). In Miles’ case, he never did the same thing, but always played with something different in mind. However, when he got the sound he wanted, he would abandon it without any hesitation and search for the next sound. That’s what makes Miles so cool! So, after that miraculous night in Berlin, Miles clearly changed. First, he included “Prelude” from “Agartha” in 1975’s “Agartha” and “Pangaea,” which he had only performed a few times before, and “For Dave,” which had never been in the style of his previous songs, in the live set. He also boldly changed the arrangement of the same song every day, and he was heading straight for the thorny path of Miles. Well, aside from Miles, the band members were not able to handle it. However, the work of the members who had been trained by this was incredible! And what is noticeable about the Miles Group after Berlin is that they changed into a somewhat suspicious, somewhat morbid sound. The most notable live performance was the second-to-last performance in 1973 in Rotterdam on November 17, 1973. The Rotterdam performance was a fairly high-quality, muffled sound image, but the sound of each instrument has been cleared with a happy update. The sound was quite good because it was originally a master recording of the band, but the sound quality of some instruments was difficult to hear, but this updated title, which can be said to be the definitive version of this sound source, has arrived! ! The set list was almost the same on both days, but the arrangement of each song was quite different. For example, the opening song “Turnaround Phase” was 3 minutes and 30 seconds before the theme by Miles and Dave in Rotterdam, and Pete’s sick guitar swelled. This Rotterdam performance was also performed with the most unusual arrangement of the 1973 live shows, and songs such as “Lights Off” were played at half the speed of the Rainbow performance, at super slow speed.
