Description

Among the remaining live recordings of the popular 1973 band with Dave Liebman, who reached the pinnacle of live bands, the infamous Copenhagen performance, which has the best performance but the worst sound quality, has finally been unearthed and released for the first time in high quality from a low generation tape that is almost like the master! ! The Miles Davis Band’s Copenhagen, Denmark performance on October 29, 1973, which was released by the short-lived Electric Blue label but quickly went out of print, has finally been released for the first time in high quality sound with careful mastering by the label, which has been unearthed for the first time this time, giving fans a sigh of relief! ! After all, listening to the 1973 Miles Band with such good sound quality can only be described as the best! ! However, until now there has only been one type of tape from this day, and although there is still some skipping in the first half of “Ife”, the sound quality itself is as you would expect from a low generation tape! It’s different from the Electric Blue version! Listening to this, it’s clear that the Electric Blues version was recorded from a tape that had been dubbed several times and was several generations apart. The band warm-up is filled with the “mystery” that is characteristic of Electric Miles. It’s not often said, but the greater the musician, the more harsh the environment for new creation, the more likely they are to become obsessed with mystical things such as drugs, religion, and magic. Classical musicians such as Bach, who cannot be discussed without a connection to religion, Charles Manson, who founded a religious religion, Jimmy Page, who believed in the black magician Aleister Crowler, Bob Marley, who dedicated himself to God, and Miles, who supported African magic and religion, are they a way to place themselves in a world of fantasy (delusion) due to their desire to create a new world? However, the music that arrives through this is very original and attractive, and has an indescribable “mystery” and “sexiness”. I believe in musicians who can feel this… Oops, I’ve digressed. Starting with the killer opening number “Turnaround Phrase” of this period, they launched into a ferocious performance that seemed to pounce on the audience. Al’s thumping drums, Michael’s heavy funk bass, and Reggie’s thumping guitar all came together to form a raging mass, while Miles’s howling, Liebman’s head bursting, and Pete’s mysterious heavy guitar roared, making for an incredible performance that reached the pinnacle of a live band! It was comparable to the famous performance in Berlin three days later!
