Description
A 1998 live album by the strongest trio of Petrucciani, Anthony, and Gadd, who left their mark on the history of jazz piano trios in their later years. In 1994, he returned to France after being awarded a medal by the French government for his achievements. After returning home, Petrucciani became even more energetic than he had been in New York, collaborating with Niels Pedersen, Stefan Grappelin, Marcus Miller, and others, and focusing on solo piano, resulting in his later years. This was almost the last activity of Petrucciani in the late 1990s, when he became a great musician (he has not declined), and will remain in jazz history with Anthony Jackson and Steve Gadd, who shine brightly in Petrucciani’s career. Formed an amazing piano trio. He quickly gained attention and critical acclaim all over the world, but in January 1999, he suddenly passed away at the age of 36 due to a lung infection…Until now, the trio’s only live albums were from 1997, but here they are. Petrucciani’s last live performance, which took place in Marciac, France on August 10, 1998, six months before his death, was recorded in its entirety on a superbly high-quality stereo soundboard that was carefully mastered by the label.
