Description
The release of the finest soundboard sound source reprinted from the legendary “Cozy Tape” has been decided! This work was recorded during the North American tour immediately after the release of “God (The Return of Flying Arrow). It is a two-disc set that contains the direct stereo soundboard of the “November 20, 1980 Erie performance” and the “December 22, 1980 Los Angeles performance”. These two sound sources were compiled in 2001 as “INDIANA 1980 SOUNDBOARD” and “L.A. 1980 SOUNDBOARD”. It is one of the earliest of the so-called “Cozy Tapes”, and is a great masterpiece that became the pioneer of the series that took the world by storm. Its excavation was a strong shock. After all, at that time, when it came to the soundboard of M.S.G. during the Cozy Powell era, the official “Flying Legend” or ROCK All they could do was scrape together PALAST’s pro shots and singles and other fragmented takes. Moreover, the favorite of the favorites, “Flying Legend,” was full of overdubs, and people were mocking him, asking, “Which part was the real live performance?” It was a very lonely soundboard situation, even though it was the moment when Michael Schenker was shining the most. “INDIANA 1980 SOUNDBOARD” and “L.A. 1980” turned that situation upside down. “SOUNDBOARD”. The sound board connected directly to the desk suddenly appeared like a comet, and with an extremely intense sound, it conveyed in detail the fierce collision between the god of guitar and the god of thunder of drums. The intensity and vividness of the sound is incomparable to the “manufactured live album “Flying Legend”. Since it was recorded live with a recorder directly connected to the sound board desk on site, there was absolutely no correction or editing. The performance itself was divine, while immersing oneself in a fighting sensation as if Michael and Cozy were fighting in one another in one’s mind. In the later performances in Japan, Cozy was suffering from poor health, but he played the “Shinwa” repertoire. There was also a clear lack of rehearsal. The band managed to finish their exhausted performance into “Flying Legend” by revising it in the studio, but this work is like a completely different band. The new band M.S.G. is determined to take on the world, and the ensemble is in full swing after several months of live performances. The thrill of fighting on the spot is at full throttle because it is a live performance. The appearance of this amazing, superb stereo sound board stunned rock fans all over the world, and the impact spread to not only maniacs/collectors but also to those who do not usually listen to bootlegs. The impact spread overseas on the internet during the popularization period, and in the following year, 2002, it triggered the birth of the half-official album “REACTIVATE LIVE” on the Zoom Club label. This work is a two-in-one version of such a “legendary bootleg”. These two sound sources were then re-digitized from the original tapes and are still reigning as the apex press CDs “RETURN OF THE FLYING ARROW” and “FLYING OVER WEST”, respectively, but this work is merely a reprint. In terms of pure audio, “RETURN OF THE FLYING ARROW” and “FLYING OVER WEST” are superior, but this work is the sound that caused a sensation all over the world. Even if you ignore the historical background, you can enjoy the superb live performance of 7 of the 9 songs from “God (The Return of Flying Arrow)” + 4 UFO songs in these 2 performances. It is a great 2-disc set to listen to as “the live version of ‘God'” and “the Cozy version of ‘God'”. How amazing the early M.S.G. was. This historic stereo soundboard album conveys that fact with more vividness and intensity than the official work. Please enjoy the brilliance of the gods to the fullest.
