Description
M.S.G.’s masterpiece video “ROCK WILL NEVER DIE” was shot 36 years ago today (October 22nd + 23rd). The long version has been decided to be released. Speaking of “ROCK WILL NEVER DIE”, this is the official video recording the “BUILT TO DESTROY TOUR” before the collapse. It’s full of delicious points, such as a setlist that compiles M.S.G.’s first four albums, Derek St. Holmes’ side vocals, and Rudolf Schenker and Klaus Meine’s introduction, and has been loved as a basic essential video for fans ever since. . It was in 2009 that this iconic work received a major upgrade. Initially, this stage was made into a live album (9 songs included) and VHS (11 songs included), but it was expanded with the remaster project in 2009. Both have become long versions with “15 songs”. The remastered CD became widely known, but the problem was the video part. It was only included in the box set “WALK THE STAGE” and was never released separately. At that time, many official versions of the bootleg were appearing, and this box also had the subtitle “The Official Bootleg Box Set,” so people other than enthusiasts who listened to the songs one by one thought, “Oh, here we go again.” , it was not recognized as the first appearance of a long version. And 10 years have passed since then. This box itself is now out of print, and used copies are sold at premium prices. Even though I realized belatedly that it was a valuable long piece, I couldn’t afford it. This work is a detailed reproduction of such a long version. It is the definitive official video that is the culmination of early M.S.G. The quality is of course completely official, but the important thing is the expanded content. Let’s organize the set list here. ●THE MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP (3 songs)・Into the Arena/Armed and Ready・Additional song: Cry For The Nations ●MSG (3 songs)・Are You Ready To Rock/Attack of the Mad Axeman・Additional song: Looking For Love ●ASSAULT ATTACK (2 songs)・Desert Song・Additional songs: Rock You To The Ground ●BUILT TO DESTROY (5 songs)・Captain Nemo/Rock My Nights Away/Rock Will Never Die/I’m Gonna Make You Mine・Additional songs Song: Red Sky ●Other・Courvoisier Concerto/Doctor Doctor…and so on. The four songs added were “Cry For The Nations,” “Looking For Love,” “Rock You To The Ground,” and “Red Sky,” one song each from the initial four. I would be happy if the number of famous songs was simply increased, but from the current point of view, it is also rare. Although “I’m Gonna Make You Mine” is slightly confirmed to have been performed by McAULEY SCHENKER GROUP, numbers such as “Rock You To The Ground,” “Rock Will Never Die,” “Red Sky,” and “Looking For Love” are Not played at TEMPLE OF ROCK or MICHAEL SCHENKER FEST. While it is a comprehensive summary of early M.S.G., it is also a treasure trove of famous songs that cannot be heard today. Moreover, it was created by Michael Schenker in the 1980s. Of course, the Flying V is a Gibson, so its tone is infinitely sweet and sad, and its phrases are crisp. Derek St. Holmes sings a beautiful chorus in each song, and sings a relaxed lead vocal not only in “I’m Gonna Make You Mine” but also in the middle of “Rock You To The Ground”… (By the way, he is The side guitar is also wonderful, not only playing the rhythm but also sometimes countering Michael’s solos). It’s a shame that it collapsed despite repeated attempts. M.S.G. in 1984 accumulated a collection of famous songs and performed them with a wonderful ensemble. This work is a long version of the highest quality official video. A piece worthy of being called a masterpiece. This is a safe release decision for those who can’t afford discontinued boxes.
