Description
[A historic reconciliation live!] This work includes the performance at Milton Keynes on June 5, 1993 in the UK. At the time, it was a live performance that was much talked about as “MEGADETH will open for METALLICA!?”, and the first disc contains MEGADETH’s stage, while the second and third discs contain METALLICA’s stage. It was a live performance that appealed to the reconciliation of the two bands who had been influencing each other and evolving heavy metal for 10 years since 1983, when METALLICA, the founder of thrash metal, and Dave Mustaine parted ways, while engaging in verbal battles in the media. Of course, this fact is also reflected in the enthusiasm of the performance, but the most symbolic thing is Mustaine’s MC. Before “Liar”, the soundboard also records the scene where they loudly declare, “Today will be a historic day. The 10 years of bullshit between MEGADETH and METALLICA is over! (10 years of bullshit is over between Megadeth & Metallica!!)”. Of course, the title of this work is named after this MC. *Note: Strictly speaking, the two bands had already performed together at the end of the year event in 1985. However, MEGADETH, who had just debuted at that time, was treated as a lower rank than the other performers METAL CHURCH and EXODUS. This “Milton Keynes 1993” was the first time they performed as the second billboard after METALLICA. [A tremendous live performance at the peak! ] The content of the live performance was also great. That’s because 1993, when this live performance took place, was the time when both bands created their masterpieces “BLACK ALBUM” and “COUNTDOWN TO EXTINCTION”. If the band’s potential is at a career high, the popularity and enthusiasm of the audience waiting for them is also at a career high, and even though both bands have a long history, this is a peak live performance that has never been more fulfilling. Moreover, since it is full of the spirit of a historic event, it can’t be bad. Although both bands founded thrash metal, they went “away from thrash” and “authentic metal” as if they had agreed to do so, but the thrash numbers on this day were a violent version that reminded us of the past! Moreover, the sharpness of the riffs that they have trained for 10 years is more than ever, digging into their five organs, and the heavy numbers resonate deeply in their six viscera. In particular, METALLICA’s performance is incredible, with Jason Newsted’s roar and the amazing sound quality that will be described later… It’s a powerful live performance that you would really want to show to aliens!! [The longest and highest quality! ] The sound that recorded such a historic day is even more amazing. Both bands are based on broadcast sound sources, and are completely free from the common “innocent cheers” and “unnatural mixes of table recordings”. It’s exactly “the only rival is the official”. On top of that, the rawness that seems to overpower the official is also amazing. The brutality of the musical sounds is also intense, but even the raw cheers that seem to have been covered by the broadcasting station are wonderful. Usually, cheers are mixed in as an apology, and in the worst cases, they are repeated pseudo-SE, but in this work, they are mixed in plenty (quite adventurously). Moreover, the cheers are completely integrated with the band, and far from being a hindrance, they make the performance shine many times more. The sharp sound board cuts in, and you can fully enjoy the realistic presence as if you were present on a historic day…. This live album brings out the charm and ups and downs of the live to the fullest, not only in sound quality but also in musical sounds and completion. There are many sound boards (including official ones) for both bands at the peak of their careers, but there is no doubt that this work is the top quality that competes for first and second place! In fact, the “Milton Keynes performance” is a famous standard sound source because of its outstanding high quality, but this work is the longest and best version among the many titles. For example, most of the previous releases of MEGADETH are boards that have been mixed with other performances and copies of singles to make them bulkier. In contrast, this work does not have any such extra sound sources, and “Peace Sells” and “Anarchy In The U.K.” are additionally recorded from another broadcast of the “Milton Keynes performance”. Only these two songs have different sound quality, so they are treated as bonuses, but this covers all the existing line sound sources (the remaining four songs of the day, “Countdown To Extinction”, “Lucretia”, “Sweating Bullets”, and “Holy Wars”, have not been discovered). Although the two 2nd encore songs “Enter Sandman” and “So What”, which have not been discovered for METALLICA, have not been recorded, the rest are completely recorded. Previously released titles were single discs, had cuts or fade-outs between songs, and some even had unrelated music overlapping with “Battery” (!), but this work has none of those shortcomings. In this way, this work is a live album that has historical significance, performance, enthusiasm, sound… everything. Following the huge hits “NO LIFE ‘TIL MEGAFORCE” and “LEGENDARY QUARTET”, this is also a masterpiece that can be counted as “the greatest masterpiece of HEAVY METAL music”. We will deliver this commemorative live album in a 3CD definitive edition that is worthy of the birth of a masterpiece.
