Description
METALLICA’s 1993 reconciliation concert with MEGADETH was a historic one. A superb pro shot that captures the spectacle has been released. The historic concert took place in Milton Keynes on June 5, 1993. This day featured a festival format with four acts: their partner MEGADETH, their senior DIAMOND HEAD, and the British rising star THE ALMIGHTY. This work is a multi-camera pro shot of the headliner METALLICA. (The longest soundboard of METALLICA, MEGADETH, and DIAMOND HEAD can be enjoyed on the four-disc set “MILTON KEYNES 1993: SOUNDBOARD.”) At the time, METALLICA was embarking on a massive world tour amid the astronomical success of “BLACK ALBUM.” First, let’s take a look at the overall picture and the position of this work. 1991/1992: WHEREVER WE MAY ROAM Tour (198 shows), GUNS/METALLICA Stadium Tour (26 shows), 1993: NOWHERE ELSE TO ROAM Tour (77 shows), ★here★ 1994: SHIT HITS THE SHEDS Tour (51 shows). This is an overview of their 1991-1994 tours. They continued to tour in huge lengths, with varying numbers of shows and venues. 1993 was the “NOWHERE ELSE TO ROAM Tour.” Speaking of this period, they also had a Mexico City performance for the official box office “LIVE SHIT: BINGE & PURGE,” so let’s focus on the dates and confirm their relative locations. 1993 January 22nd – March 2nd: North America (23 performances) ← * Official Mexico Performances March 12th + 13th: Hawaii (2 performances) March 16th – 23rd: Japan (6 performances) March 26th – April 8th: Oceania (10 performances) April 10th – 17th: Asia (5 performances) May 1st – 8th: South America (5 performances) May 19th – July 4th: Europe (24 performances) ← ★ Here ★ “LIVE SHIT: BINGE & PURGE” released on November 23rd… and so on. The reconciliation tour with MEGADETH in this work was part of the “European” leg. The Milton Keynes performance in this work was the 10th concert. This work, which conveys such a stage, is truly an exquisite professional shot. While recorded in the early ’90s, it’s not exactly “21st-century high-definition,” and there’s no degrading artifacts that would interfere with the beautiful image, making it one of the best-quality footage from the “BLACK ALBUM” era. Fundamentally different from the South American recordings common in the ’90s, it offers a truly enjoyable experience with the professional angles and image quality of the developed UK. Compared to the brutally real soundboard recordings of “MILTON KEYNES 1993: SOUNDBOARD,” the audio and mix are a little more subdued, but the clarity is comparable. Depending on your taste, it’s no surprise that this work may be more appealing. Such beautiful visuals depict the stage from the “NOWHERE ELSE TO ROAM Tour,” which combined weight and sharpness. While the encore is not included, it’s not complete, but the volume of over two hours of songs is still impressive. Finally, let’s take a look at the set contents. Black Album ・Of Wolf And Man / Wherever I May Roam / The Unforgiven Others ・Ride the Lightning: Creeping Death / For Whom The Bell Tolls / Fade To Black ・Metal Master: Welcome Home (Sanitarium) / The Thing That Should Not Be (★★) / Disposable Heroes (★★) / Master Of Puppets / Battery ・Others: Harvester Of Sorrow / Orion Jam (★) / The Four Horsemen / Seek And Destroy *Note: The “★” mark indicates songs that could not be heard at the official “LIVE SHIT: BINGE & PURGE” Mexico City performance SBD. In particular, the “★★” mark indicates songs that were not included in the official San Diego performance pro shot. The documentary “MILTON KEYNES 1993: TV SPECIAL” captures the mood of the historic event of reconciliation with MEGADETH, while the four-disc “MILTON KEYNES 1993: SOUNDBOARD” best captures the weight of the music album. This work is not about the specialness of such an event, but rather a multi-camera pro-shot that simply enjoys the “peak era of METALLICA.” This superb multi-camera pro-shot from the heyday of the NOWHERE ELSE TO ROAM Tour has been released. This is the METALLICA edition of the reconciliation concert with MEGADETH, and it is one of the highest quality pro-shots from the “BLACK ALBUM” era.
