Description
Introducing a super-excellent live album where you can fully enjoy the golden 80’s. This work includes two European outdoor festival performances, “June 11, 1984 PINK POP FESTIVAL performance” and “August 17, 1985 MONSTERS OF ROCK performance”. This is a 2-disc set with one disc each. In recent years, MARILLION has been enthusiastic about archiving, and has released several live albums, including “EARLY STAGES”, which is a compilation of early live performances. However, the two performances of this work were leaked from both of them. Of course, it is a definitive collection that can be collected with the highest quality of the highest peak master. Now, let’s introduce each performance individually. [Disc 1: 1984 PINK POP FESTIVAL] First up is the famous Dutch festival “PINK POP”. This is a traditional music festival that has continued uninterrupted from 1970 to the present, with nine groups participating in 1984. The DIO edition is famous, but MARILLION also appears, and the episode is also broadcast on the radio. This work is an FM stereo sound board that completely records the entire story. The quality is just perfect. It may be an air check because it is disturbed only for a moment at the beginning, but it is no wonder that it is a broadcast master. Although the DIO edition had been made official, it is of perfect quality that makes it seem more strange that MARILLION did not include it in “EARLY STAGES”. Moreover, the show is too delicious. This week, Rare Lineup’s initial soundboards “BUFFALO 1983 (Amity 509)” and “BAUNATAL 1983 (Amity 508)” will be released at the same time, but this work includes permanent member Ian Mosley, creating an ironclad ensemble. is completed. The set was also intense, almost a “live performance version of FUGAZI.” At the end, the first album’s “Garden Party” and debut single “Market Square Heroes” are played, but up until that point, it’s full of “FUGAZI”. Of the seven songs on the album, all songs except “Emerald Lies” and “She Chameleon” are played, and the order of the songs is almost the same as on the album. The B-side song “Cinderella Search” from the single “Assassing” is inserted there. Actually, it was a live performance at the same time as “REAL TO REEL”, but the three songs “Punch & Judy”, “Jigsaw” and “Fugazi” are numbers that cannot be heard even on that traditional version, so this work is better. The “FUGAZI” color is even more intense. It’s a bold set that comes at a time when new songs are being born one after another and each album is progressing one by one, but of course the satisfaction of getting Ian in the performance and his own love for “FUGAZI” overflows. The performance is so passionate and complete that you can’t help but say, “This is MARILLION!” You can enjoy the whole picture on the official super-superb sound board. [Disc 2: 1985 MONSTERS OF ROCK] Disc 2 is the time of the eternal masterpiece “MISPLACED CHILDHOOD”. This is a live album from their first appearance at the UK’s biggest festival “MONSTERS OF ROCK”. This year, there was a great lineup including BON JOVI, METALLICA, and RATT, but MARILLION was the second in line after ZZ TOP. It is a record of the heyday when it was gaining momentum. This is also of exceptional quality, but it is also a bit of a mystery. Although it was a recording that had been known for a long time, traders used to trade it with “SOUNDBOARD…?” and “?”. In fact, what comes out of this disc is a superb sound that can only be called “like a soundboard.” The core, detail, and beauty of the sound are like FM broadcasts. However, if you listen closely with headphones, you can hear the clapping and the applause. MONSTERS OF ROCK in 1985 is left as Tori’s ZZ TOP abnormal dimension audience recording “MONSTERS OF ROCK 1985”, but this work may also be by the same recording artist. In any case, there is no doubt that it is of a transcendent quality that even the most discerning collectors will be confused about. The show drawn with that sound is truly in its prime. Although it is not a perfect reproduction of “MISPLACED CHILDHOOD” since it was performed at a festival, it is a super best selection of songs that are concentrated and reduced from the debut song “Market Square Heroes” to new songs. Of course, since they are all such decisive songs, I was able to listen to all the songs on “THE THIEVING MAGPIE”, but the reality of the whole thing is overwhelming, completely different from the official version edited by Tsugihagi. Moreover, the scene of this work is the sacred place of Donnington, and he appears as a new hero of his home country. He is so confident that he can feel the glory with all his being, and has more than enough willpower to master the big stage. It’s not just a youthful explosion, it’s not just a skilled performance. “Is this what it means for a band to reach its peak?” You can fully enjoy the spectacular show with the best sound that will convince you with the sound. MARILLION in the mid-1980s was producing masterpieces that will go down in history one after another, such as “FUGAZI” and “MISPLACED CHILDHOOD.” The stage was more mellow and full of enthusiasm than the masterpiece album. This work is evidence of that sound. The official box “EARLY STAGES” was also wonderful, but it was a great performance that could only be heard at a huge festival. This is the golden age of British hero MARILLION.
