Description
After leaving VU in August 1970, Lou Reed temporarily took a break from music activities, working as a typist in his father’s office, but from that autumn he resumed his solo career by recording the archives he had written during his time with the Velvets. Record the song you entered as a demo. That is the title of this album, which includes all 12 songs written in the same year and left as acoustic demos, in master quality and soundboard sound source, leaked by the people involved. Although it was a short recording of 32 minutes in total, the sound sources here were not included in later songs such as “VU”, “Another View”, “Peel Slowly And See”, and “Loaded (fully loaded edition)”. Moreover, from this point on, “I Can’t Stand It,” “Walk And Talk,” “Going Down,” “Ride Into The Sun,” and “Lisa Says” became his first solo, “Rock Fantasy,” released in 1972. It is recorded and is exactly the naked version of them. In addition, the original song “Lonely Saturday Night” from “I’m So Free” and “Goodnight Ladies” was made into “Transformers,” and the original song “Looking Through The Eyes Of Love” from “Oh Jim” was made into “Berlin.” Also, the original song “Kill Our Sons” from “Kill Your Sons” was included in “Sally Can’t Dance” and “She’s My Best Friend” was included in “Coney Island Baby” much later. It is interesting that there are many songs officially recorded since then, and this collector’s edition is a must-have for fans, as it realistically conveys the true beauty of those songs.
