Description
The performances of LED ZEPPELIN, BS&T, ROLAND KIRK and JETHRO TULL at the Newport Jazz Festival in Rhode Island in July 1969 have been released directly on CD from the completely unreleased master cassette. Except for JETHRO TULL, which contains the full stage, each show is only partially recorded, but due to the excellent sound quality, it is undoubtedly a must-have take for enthusiasts. First of all, it seems that the first three songs of LED ZEPPELIN on July 6th are of interest to you, but compared to the already released version that contains the full stage, there is no doubt that these three songs (two and a half songs to be exact) are the best takes in the world from that day due to their freshness, sound grain, and the natural sound spread of the master tape. Following the original BS&T, who just released his 2nd album, and ROLAND KIRK, who plays a freaky performance, this is the full picture of JETHRO TULL’s 33-minute stage at the NEWPORT JAZZ FESTIVAL on July 4th, which is the world’s first appearance, unlike ZEP. This live performance has never been recorded before, so it can be said that this is a truly astonishing take for TULL enthusiasts around the world. Considering that it was 1969, the sound quality is excellent. This work contains everything that was left on the very valuable original tape by the same recorder as the BLIND FAITH’s New York performance on July 12, 1969, which was released earlier by MASTERPORT and immediately sold out, and the part where the sound goes away in the middle of D&C with the voice saying “Jimmy Page has a technique after all” (Japanese!) is very unfortunate, but at the same time, it also makes you feel a certain kind of smile, making it a very unique sound source.
