Description
This recording was made in 2005 on Radio Hauraki, New Zealand’s first private FM station with a history of nearly 50 years (the station broadcasts a program called ‘Led Before Bed’ led zeppelin before bedtime, which only plays Zeppelin music every Wednesday night). This is a recording of Zeppelin’s one and only Auckland concert broadcast on February 25, 1972. Zeppelin’s one and only Auckland concert was broadcast using an AUD source, which is unthinkable in Japan. This is a sound source using the 85-minute high-quality source 1 (note that there is also a source 2 for this performance, which was recently excavated and is a source with a longer recording time of 112 minutes than source 1, although the sound is far away and a little muffled). The best one that has already been released is a 2nd Gen copy dubbed from the 1st Gen owned by Paul C., but the sound image is clearly different from those. It is not clear whether Paul’s 1st Gen is used instead of the 2nd Gen, or whether it was carefully treated for broadcast, but the edgy and wonderful sound from the first song, Heartbreaker, will definitely be blown away. It is a must-have item for fans who want to enjoy the Auckland performance, which is famous for “Going To Auckland” and “No Longer Down Under”, with the best sound and a different taste from usual. The exclusive interview with the promoter at that time is also a must-listen. Since it is a program of nearly 2 hours, it is full of excellent and must-listen live takes, and it is a very excellent piece that fans should definitely get. -Radio documentary broadcast of Led Zeppelin at New Zealand- Western Springs Stadium, Auckland, New Zealand 25th February 1972 Radio documentary broadcast of Led Zeppelin at New Zealand Disc 1(54:48) 01.
