Description

Approximately 48 minutes of high-quality audience recording of the first day of the 2-day Seattle performance on June 18th, the 11th performance of the 1972 North American tour. Although it is a recording of only the first half of the show from the beginning to Going to California, the recording of this day is limited, and the sound quality is excellent, and although it may be incomplete, it can be said to be one of the must-have sound sources for fans. This version was recorded from RoGene’s reel tape (Bill B.Tape), and the pitch is certainly accurate, and you can confirm Gene’s youth with this alone. However, perhaps due to the state in which the tape was stored, only the last song, Going To California, was 20% higher, so I corrected the pitch of this part only. The sense of distance between the recorder and the stage is excellent, the sound image is stable, and the listening response is perfect from beginning to end. There is no tape deterioration, so you can listen to it without stress. The Seattle performance on this day was suddenly booked as a make-up performance in Vancouver, which was scheduled to be held on the same day. In response to the riot that occurred at the Stones’ concert, the City Council has decided that no rock concerts will be held in Vancouver for a certain period of time.At the beginning, the host explains the situation for about 50 seconds before the concert. Although it has been recorded (such as “There are still a lot of people coming from Vancouver. Therefore, we will delay the start of the show to 8:30”), this part is also a wonderful document as well as the main part. Plant also explains the situation in the first MC after Heartbreaker. “Anybody from Vancouver, here? That is nice one…” he says positively, exciting the audience. What’s interesting is that at the beginning of the day, “LA Drone” was played for over a minute, and I thought it was going to go straight into Immigrant Song, but even after the tape ended, the band still hadn’t finished soundchecking, and during that time… , a strange pause has been created. Plant connects this part with an impromptu MC, but I can’t help it, or rather, it’s an unusual intro part. From then on, the performances are very crisp and wonderful, and all of them are worth listening to. The excellent Since I’ve Been Loving You is a must-listen. It is a shame that the recording time is short, but the quality is excellent and it is definitely a must-listen and must-have for fans. The Seattle performance was the 11th day of the tour. The big point is that “LA Drone” is recorded from the beginning because it is captured from the announcement before the performance. On this day, it did not directly connect to “Immigrant Song”, but once it broke, Plant’s MC came in, and “Immigrant Song” began. The roar of “Immigrant Song” suddenly becomes a bit uneasy, but performances such as “Since I’ve Been Loving You” that can be considered one of the best on this tour are recorded. Although the sound quality is quite good, only the first six songs of the concert have seen the light of day, and even more so, since a spectacular live performance was held at the same venue the next day, this is the only one left. This is truly unfortunate. Seattle Center Coliseum, Seattle, WA. USA 18th June 1972 (47:34) 1. Introduction 2. Drone/MC Into 3. Immigrant Song 4. Heartbreaker 5. MC 6. Black Dog 7. MC 8.
