Description

The definitive edition of “Electric Magic” is here! Many people may have the impression that “Elemagi” has a “bad sound,” but this title overturns that image and can be said to be the definitive album with the best sound of all time! It was a live performance that appeared in the mid-’90s, and the sound was quite good at that time. After that, the version that came out around 2001 was a degraded copy, and the version that came out around 2003 somehow made Immigrant Song appear for the first time from a submaster with an inferior sound based on a degraded copy. By the way, Dancing Days was also “recorded for the first time” there, but the reality was that the same song from the December 23, 1972 performance was embedded. After that, they have been released in recent years, but both have the same metallic and glittering treatment for some reason, and the recorded editing content is also almost the same for some reason, so these releases were also a mystery. In any case, the metallic and glittery texture is disappointing, and in terms of sound, you can hear the low-frequency hum noise and excessive low-frequency processing that is an early release, but it is currently the best. This was the situation until now. This title is probably a similar route to the masters that have been used in recent years, but the point is that the main recording is the natural master (not the net, of course) before the metallic and glittering processing is done. This is the point. There is a lot of hiss noise, but due to careful mastering that has nothing to do with glaring digital processing, the sound quality is definitely significantly improved for this day’s live performance. In addition, all related titles had an annoying hum noise in the low range, but that has almost disappeared, and sounds that were previously difficult to hear can now be heard quite clearly. For example, Robert’s Good Evening from the beginning of the CD! (CD time around 0:13) Just by listening to and comparing it with previously released titles, you will be able to get a great sense of the clean sound without the difference in resolution or harsh low frequency noise. By the way, I was able to hear phrases that I couldn’t hear before, but somehow the metallic sound canceled them out. In addition, in terms of content, gaps between songs are filled in as appropriate on the sub-tape (also not online), and cuts between songs and double recordings of sounds that were not noticed in previous releases are filled in and uncut restored. (It’s a little longer). Also, the pitch etc. are naturally consistent, and for example, there is no deviation in the pitch before and after the cut part at the end of the daze (around 22:32 of the main disc) (in the previous release, it was higher after the cut). In any case, “Elemagi”, which I thought was difficult to listen to until now, has finally reached a level where I can listen to it! The definitive version of the Wembley performance on November 20, 1971! Naturally good audience that overwhelms previous releases! (Naturally not on the internet) There is no unpleasant digital odor that was seen in previous releases! “Electric Magic”, Empire Pool, Wembley, UK 20th November 1971 Disc 1 (41:20) 01.
