The first official documentary film of the band, “Led Zeppelin: Becoming,” is scheduled to be released in Japan in September 2025, and there is renewed interest in unearthing footage of the band’s live performances. The footage of the first day of their 1971 Japan tour at the Budokan, which was said to be the biggest discovery in recent years, has been restored by the photographer using the latest equipment and technology in 2025 on the original master 8mm film. First of all, the 8mm footage, which was originally said to be a historic discovery, was so valuable that it caused a stir around the world when it was released in 2020, but this time it is even longer and the image quality has been improved several times, making it easier to watch. In addition, the atmosphere of the live performance of “Black Dog” and “Stairway To Heaven” has been recreated by filling in missing parts with still images. It was also revealed that these two songs were not filmed because the album “IV” had not yet been released at the time and the photographer did not know the songs. In addition, from “Dazed and Confused” onwards, he used the audience sounds he recorded himself, and the confusion that occurred during the finale “Communication Breakdown” was also edited in a documentary style, which was also excellent.
